Snatch thief nabbed
A SNATCH thief who stole from an elderly woman was arrested on Friday, just a day after the dirty deed.
The 82-year-old woman was walking at the void deck of Block 48 in Stirling Road on Thursday noon when the suspect, 52, snatched her gold necklace.
After extensive investigations, police from the Clementi Police Division managed to establish the suspect's identity and caught him on Friday at his home in Ghim Moh road.
The gold necklace valued at about $300 was recovered.
The suspect is also believed to be involved in two other cases of snatch theft at Leng Kee Road and Lengkok Bahru respectively.
He will be charged in Court on Saturday for snatch theft. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to seven years and may be caned also.
