It appears that the Ministers who has facebook accounts, in this case, where I have the actual experience, has a brigade of people handling the answers for them, and DELETING them, within minutes, after receiving negative feedback and then totally blocking them from posting again.
I am a Marine Parade resident and was happy that Goh Chok Tong decided to interact with the Marine Parade residents on facebook. How sincere he appeared to be. I shouldn’t be surprised actually but the experience on his facebook page leaves much to be desired.
I left several comments on the MParader Wall. Two comments under -
MParader
Pei Ling just called. Media wants her comments on my post. They have failed to appreciate my tongue-in cheek post. True, she has been thru baptism of fire. My use of medical metaphor is becos Fatimah is a trauma specialist. No need for media to chase PL for comments. She is strong n working hard.— Goh Chok Tong
They were both deleted together with another poster Alexus Yang posting which was also deleted possibly because it was also negative.
I was also posting on how I would not support him (GCT) if Tin Pei Ling, an immature, feet stomping woman, who does not know what to say, and have no strong views about any policy is getting into parliament, riding on his coat tails.
After a few minutes still logged in, I noticed that one of my comments (the one above about not supporting him) was deleted. I then posted a new comment to ask if Mr Goh was deleting negative feedback from his facebook page. The comment went through, and sensing that all the comments will be deleted, I “print screened” the comments on the facebook wall just in case.
True enough, in the next few minutes, all my comments were totally deleted, as well as several of the other negative comments, and I could also no longer post any further comments – “Unable to post comment. Try again.”
I have attached the screen with only one comment left which was not deleted but is no longer there confirming the deletion process, and the speed of this.
So, it seems like the PAP ministers are trying to show the online community that are are:
- savy socially? I cannot imagine GCT being able to react so fast n replies, and IT literate enough to be able to delete allt he comments within minutes
- appear to be well liked? now I know why they appear so. Only positive comments appear on their facebook page. Most of the negative comments are deleted , and the posters locked out
Goh Chok Tong can rest assured that I will not support him in the Marine Parade GRC, especially after this incident, showing how much he respects the online feedback even from his residents, irrespective, and definately not when he is expecting us to support such an incredulous candidate, getting traumatised? because of the criticisms online.
Like the ex-Solicitor General said in his interview which I watched on a link by Martyn See. Singaporeans are many things but they are NOT STUPID.
