Bro, guess you are not a frequent player if you are on daily levy.
I have annual levy with rws but considering a switch to mbs or cruise trips upon my levy expiry. Able to advise the below queries about mbs?
Carpark- rws is free, mbs use points to redeem or also free for members?
Food- rws average and they have increased the points to redeem, mbs food nice?
Points and perks- rws gives lousy perks, mbs any better?
Table play- should be same for both as odds the same
Slots play- rws not too tight, can have some wins. Heard mbs slots are tight?
Thanks in advance!
Hi justl00king,
No, I'm not a frequent player. If I have the kind of bankroll like you guys, yes maybe I would like to be one.
I took the train there, it's so convenient. The casino is within 5 mins walk from the station. More accessible than RWS by MRT.
Can't comment on the points since I'm not a frequent visitor. But it seems I get more points at RWS than MBS with roughly the same hours and types of play (Poontoon, Blackjack and Slots).
I don't know about other table games, but for Blackjack, the odds are apparently not the same. I have not played Blackjack at RWS, only Poontoon.
But I referred to the RWS Blackjack rules available at CRA. For instance, at MBS, you can double on any initial two cards but the RWS Blackjack rules say you can only double if your first two cards total 9, 10 or 11. It's more advantageous to the player to be able to double on any two cards.
Here's the RWS rule for doubling in Blackjack:
3.12 Double Down - A Player may elect to double down if his first two cards, or the first two cards of any Split pair, total 9, 10, or 11 points, provided that such cards do not consist of an "Ace" and provided further that such first two cards do not form a Blackjack or Natural 21. In order to double down, a Player shall make an additional wager equal to his initial bet and must draw only one additional card.
Also, the dealer stands at soft 17 at MBS, which again is better (I think) for the player. The RWS rule says:
3.19. When the subsequent deal to all Players’ hands has been completed, a Dealer shall draw additional card(s) to himself, provided always that the Dealer draws to 16 points and stands on 17 points.
Not sure if "stands on 17 points" means soft or hard 17.
This is what I know about Blackjack at MBS:
Number of decks used: 6
Dealer stands on soft 17
Blackjack pays 3:2
Can double on any first two cards
Can surrender (lose half of bet) against dealer's any first card against player's first two cards
If you split any paired cards (e.g. 3,3, 8,8) you only lose the original bet against the dealer's Blackjack
I have not played Blackjack elsewhere, so I don't know if the rules above are the norm. But based on the above, the house edge is around 0.4% (
