Sinkieland is so great, both microsoft and now amazon open in KL instead! Shithole only smells good to shitpeople

Cheap electricity in Malaysia is the main lure. Sinkie Land definitely cannot fight on this aspect. That is why you also get Hatten Land doing Crypto Mining in Malacca, but with the current Crypto crash, I wonder if it's still feasible?
Even Hatten land does such a scammy tasks.

TSMC may build multibillion-dollar chip plant in Singapore: WSJ

SINGAPORE - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is considering building a new multibillion-dollar factory in Singapore to help tackle the global chip shortage, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday (May 19).
Negotiations are under way with the Economic Development Board (EDB), according to WSJ, citing unnamed sources. It said no final decision has been made.
The report added that the Singapore Government may help to fund construction of the plant.
Responding to queries from The Straits Times on Friday, the Taiwan chip giant said: "TSMC does not rule out any possibility; however, the company does not have a concrete plan at this time to build a fab in Singapore."
TSMC is the world's largest contract chipmaker and earns about a quarter of its revenue from Apple.
The potential Singapore plant could manufacture between 7-nanometer (nm) and 28nm processors, the WSJ report said.

These are chips used in some smartphones but more widely seen in cars and other devices, according to AppleInsider. The Singapore factory could thus free up production capacity at other plants where Apple's latest 5nm chips can be manufactured and help to relieve global shortages, according to a report in MacRumors.

No specific location or budget estimate for the potential Singapore plant was given in the WSJ report. TSMC has said that it plans to spend between US$40 billion (S$55 billion) and US$44 billion for its overall capital expenditure in the current financial year.
TSMC's main factories are located in Taiwan, but it also operates a factory in Washington and is building its first Japanese plant as a joint venture with Sony and a US$12 billion 5nm chip plant in Arizona.
Its expansion plans come against a backdrop of major economies - from the United States to Europe, Japan and China - rolling out billions of incentives to bring semiconductor production onshore due to supply chain issues and national security concerns.
US-listed Globalfoundries, the world's third-biggest contract chipmaker, announced last year a US$4 billion investment plan to build a another plant in Singapore. Its investment is in partnership with EDB, with co-investments from customers.

Singapore can utilize this venture to make up for its loss as a Data Centre. Hopefully this venture will eventually be materialized with the government giving some special grants. Companies are not stupid as without attractive grants, they won't come to set up their plants here.

I can give you two news for every one new business in sinkieland. https://focustaiwan.tw/business/202112080008
Nowadays still got people buy and read books, when it is already so rampant to get the information (and even the latest) one wants from the Internet? Furthermore, the Chinese population in Malaysia is dwindling due to the annual emigration by the richer Malaysian Chinese.

I remember why winners is ignored now. Sinkie to the core
I'm being ignored? You must be out of your mind. See for yourself how many of my posts have been "liked" and/or replied. Don't kid yourself. I've always been stating my facts logically in most of my posts.

Why don't you admit yourself as being Anti-PAP? There are several here who always like to challenge me (eg: @mojito and @LordElrond), but when I asked for their opinions instead, they just go silent. Always remember: Words Are Sharper Than Knives.

May all calm down. Singapore is only a small nation & not as self sufficient as neighboring Asean countries. It would be impossible to house every top 100 manufacturing companies here. However, EDB, where the best & brightest are sent to, already have strategic economic 10yrs, 20yrs, & even 50yrs economic plan for Singapore, a legacy laid down by our pragmatic Founding Fathers & courageous hardworking Forefathers from all races with a single aim to survive & progress.

The best & brightest in our Economic Development Board are EVOVLED 4th Dimension-Time- citizens, with ability to TRAVEL thru time, to the past ( thru meticulous study of past written records from ALL angles) & into the Future ( thru projections, NOT just foolish liner, but from all angles, even using Quantum Mechanics) to PREPARE sustainable future economic plans for all citizens. NONE is a genius at EDB, but it is only thru each bringing to the table their sphere of knowledge for DISCUSSIONS to find the right path, with all concerned & including the best from MOM.

For sure, those mentioned companies did approached EDB, but were merely entertained or even at times ignored, as it would be a waste of time for EDB officials whom have FAR more critical issues to deal with. Those companies are not fools, & only wanted EXEMPTIONS from costs, with high expectations from our govt to FUND their profits. We are not fools. We learnt from mistakes. In the 70s, the electronics industries did create much job, but once the neighbors caught up, they left & many of our fellow citizens were retrenched & out of jobs. The lesson learnt - the bigger they are, the more the risks later, worse in electronics as tech evolves at rapid paces, with great names falling & new companies that rose in the free market.

Thus EDB's strategy - FOCUS on our strengths - aviation, financial, port hubs & its small but nimble sustainable supply chains. It may seemed to be service industry instead of manufacturing which progresses a nation thru tech advancement, but ultimately, it is about putting food on the table for loved ones. Some in the financial SERVICE sector are even earning individually S$700,000 a yr, not something to decry about. Furthermore, with the rapid pace of tech, our factories in Jurong are hiring the best engineers from NUS & responsible ITE technician graduates to IMPROVE the manufacturing & construction for our focused sectors, developing better manufactured products here than to rely on imports alone. There is MORE, but have to keep it short here.

Thus, may citizens have confidence about tomorrow. It is based on FACTS, not just hope alone. Not all countries are the same with the same economic situations. Singapore is made up of us - citizens whom had swore an oath Daily since 6yrs old, our sacred National Pledge, & saw our progress thru the years. It is a Fortress & only can be taken from within, like the great Ming dynasty that fell because some sold out to the brutal barbaric Manchu Qing dynasty. Thus, we must be vigilant & never be fooled again.

We Spore only need to focus on our strengths instead, & wish the best for our neighbors. We Spore is a Rule of Law nation & do not seek to own or rule the world unlike present dictators on our planet. We are FAR more ambitious - it's the Universe we seek for, with far more resources than a dying planet here, a promise made to Humankind thousands of years ago, & can only be achieved by working TOGETHER with confidence, courage & for a common cause - survival that leaves no one behind....
