HONG KONG: Veteran singer Dave Wang had been seen living with a 23-year-old woman in a three-storey house at a small village in Hong Kong, reported Hong Kong media.
According to local villagers, the couple lived in the run-down house 47-year-old singer rented and "seldom went out together, possibly because she is not very pretty".
The villager added that even when they travelled together, they would not behave intimately. The woman was also spotted cooking for Wang and cleaning the property.
The pair's behaviour in public contrasted greatly with their behaviour at home. Reporters staking out the house had photographed the girl cosying up to Wang at home on numerous occasions.
Wang was shocked when Hong Kong reporters caught up with him and his companion and quizzed them about their relationship as they prepared to have a meal at a nearby teahouse.
"Her? Of course she is not [my girlfriend]. We are just ordinary friends," explained Wang. The unassuming woman simply blushed and remained silent when asked the same question.
The twice-divorced crooner later wrote in his blog that the woman was not a friend but "a helper I hired". His inconsistent statements have fuelled speculation that the woman is indeed his new love.
Best known for hits like "A Game A Dream" in the late 1980s, Wang had once vowed to steer clear of women, pointing out that he would rather live alone as he lost a fortune every time he got involved with a lady.
His second marriage to Taiwan model Mok Qi Wen ended in 1997 after Wang lost large sums of money due to failed investments.
