No. Hong Kong use traditional Chinese characters too. Actually they are all the same in essence whether traditional or simple. Just a matter of strokes. Both can be read interchangeably and understood easily by people like me and the rest that know Chinese language well enough.Taiwanese are known to deliberately show defiance to China in everything, even language. Tiongland uses simplified Chinese, Taiwan just choose to use traditional Chinese characters, just to show the middle finger to Tiongland. Whenever possible, they just choose to do it differently from China.
