A couple of years ago I almost ran over a moronic Maori pedestrian who crossed in front of me from the left while I was looking right for a gap in the traffic just like the driver in the video. When the road was clear I stepped on the gas. Thank god I glanced in front of me just as I was moving off. I missed the idiot by 3 inches.

I would say 40% cyclist's fault and 60% driver's fault. Cyclist should have bypassed via the rear of the vehicle. Driver should have checked his front view again prior to driving out from the junction.

Very good clip. I faced an exact situation a moment ago when I went buy lunch. Recalling this clip, I stopped just a little shy of the car’s knocking reach and the driver did exactly what I expected: turned out left with his eyes focused on the right continuously. This clip should be used for theory learning for both cyclists and drivers.

No doubt both the driver n cyclist need to be careful but being the cyclist yourself u need to be careful one notch higher than the driver. Cos eventually the one getting hurt is u not the driver regardless who is @fault!

Generally I maintain 2 notches higher alertness against kayu Sinkie drivers when I’m cycling, and 2 notches higher alertness against kayu cyclists when I’m driving. It is important to understand how fucked up drivers can be if you want to cycle on Sinkie roads.
