Four men were arrested at Orchard Towers on Saturday (2 December) morning for allegedly using abusive language against a police officer and obstructing officers from carrying out their duties.
A video of the incident that has been circulating online shows a man sitting on the ground near a 7-11 outlet at Orchard Towers while a police officer attempts to lift him by the chin while asking him to stand up. The man is in handcuffs and is heard shouting vulgarities.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that officers on foot patrol came across a dispute taking place at Orchard Towers in the early hours of 2 December.
“A 35-year-old man was arrested for the offences of public nuisance and uttering threatening words towards a public servant. Three other men aged between 25 and 37 were also arrested for obstructing police officers from carrying out their duties,” said a police spokesperson, who added that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
If found guilty of using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty, a person can be jailed for up to four years and/or fined.
