I was thinking more about this topic.

It is only "correct" that we teach our children good values and to be good meaning ethical honest citizens who help people etc.

If the majority of people follow this the world order continues.

How do people like the very top make it? By leveraging off other humans. Isnt it?

Hence for there to be top people you need middle and bottom people. And i believe this is what we teach children to be in schools. Middle and bottom people.

The top people.....they are who they are and give the middle finger to teaching and school.

They reject the programming.

If everyone rejected the programming then there would be chaos. There will be no top people like today. Back to feuding war lords.

Depends what you want your kids to be. You happy with mediocre but good people? Or you rathet they get closer to the top and traipse the grey area?

As I grow older I find myself resembling my old man's belligerence. If it is temperament then there is not a lot we can do to change our kids' nature or our own destiny, is there? Just roll with it, see what happens.

We can by giving the children more options for careers.

Not rich doesn't mean unhappy. If you doing what you enjoy and like it can soften the blow. But doing what you hate and still not being rich is simply torture.

Trouble with sg system is for a long time there were only so many options.

Now there are a little more options especially in the finance and propety sectors.

My park is much bigger than that, and I don't have issue with people sharing it with me. We all learn to share and co-exist in harmony. Money can't buy class. BTW, my park is call East Coast Park.

Yeah education is just a foundation, one’s success is determined by his ability to soar beyond his textbook and grades. I don’t believe one necessarily needs to be unscrupulous to be highly successful. As for this Sentosa Cove issue, I would hardly believe it is a hallmark of a successful person. The guy who owns 4 houses is not necessarily the richest guy, right? Mr Tan could be richer than him but prefer to buy a few GCB elsewhere no? So all the discussion about education is valid, but not relevant to a guy who uses a public park as his personal. In all likelihood, he is probably a foreigner who is used to doing this back home, I suspect India.

Realtors are making a killing every where in net immigration countries not just singapore. I reckon some of you more cerebral, moral types would not enjoy the hustle.
