Please discuss.

Shit Meng Seng should never be allowed to touch politics. Desmoond should spend time on English classes. Do not know why he is still employed by a world class Singapore company. We need more foreigners to take over his job

More than these 2. But we can expect more of them next GE. Dont rule out Cheo contesting again. Mockery.

We need to cull the weak oppositions so that an effective co-ordination can be reached to meet voters' demands. Stealing the famous Pap "use money to solve problem" approach, I think an election deposit of 200k should be enforced.

Based on the % of votes these clowns get, we can safely conclude that hardcore opposition votes are at 20-25%. Not 30% as previously assumed.

why opposition so divided? how to win? like that?

Yes. The 30 no more. Opposition will find the going tough next GE. Good luck to WP. While Hougang is rock solid, not so sure sbout Aljunied.

weak oppositions don't contest but the likes of WP and SDP lack the capability nor the resources to contest all seats or a return to the by-election strategy that clearly doesn't work too ?

GMS complains even when PAP don't hold rally!

Goh Meng Seng
Why PAP didn't have any rally on Sunday, the golden weekend for campaigning?

From the media perspective, this will allow the media to talk only all about opposition rallies and sure enough, the rallies were full for WP as well as SDP.

The media and internet went overdrive to paint "rosy picture" of "sure win" or "good fight" and possibility of PAP losing EC, MP as well as HBT for SDP. What will be the impact?

When there is such a "WOW" effect, the conservative voters will not want to vote for opposition parties any more as they do not want to "change govt overnight". This planted the seed of FEAR in the middle ground voters.

It is no coincidence that PM's lunch time rally on Tues was all about "the need of strong govt" when there is "terrorism, economic crisis looming and unfriendly neighbour" etc. This enhanced the FEAR in middle ground voters.

Then right before polling day, DBS came up with the gloomy report of pending economic crisis.

It is a well timed, planned and executed strategy and this explains why the huge disparity in the results between WP/SDP and other parties.

Playing the FEAR factor is well tested method but this time round, PAP's strategist has gone the extra mile of staging media impact as well as engineered the sequencing of events and messaging timing.
