Lawrence wants to maintain close ties with Indonesia.

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, Indonesia and Singapore have maintained close ties. We have continued to work together, strengthening our cooperation in the economy and pandemic response. That is part of why our countries are in a stronger position than we were before, as we both reopen and emerge from the pandemic.
As I met with several leaders today, we reaffirmed our good relations and spoke about new areas of growth. Some highlights were:
• Discussed opportunities to step up mutual cooperation, with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan - including on climate change and sustainability.
• Also met Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and spoke about opportunities to deepen cooperation, while looking forward to exciting partnerships in new areas, such as sustainable tourism and creative industry.
• Discussed ways to advance our economic cooperation with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, including Kendal Industrial Park and Batam, Bintan and Karimun.
• Exchanged views with Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo on human capital and infrastructure development, job creation and more.

Lawrence happy to visit Central Java.

Happy to have the chance to visit Central Java and meet the regional leaders here, including Kendal Regent Dico Ganinduto and Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi.
Central Java holds much promise and growth, as with all of Indonesia, and we look forward to cooperating together, strengthening ties and growing new opportunities.
One example is the Kendal Industrial Park, which I toured today. It is a great example of how, working together and providing a good environment on a Government-to-Government level, we can foster more commercial collaborations. Many exciting things are coming for Kendal Industrial Park - including expanding its space, attracting talent, and helping trainees to grow in their skills and careers.
Thanks, Central Java, for your warm welcome!

What are friendships made of? Mutual confidence and trust, through thick and thin.
Glad to have good relations with our neighbour Indonesia. And we have continued to strengthen our cooperation, including working together to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.
I look forward to doing my part to build on these strong foundations, to take our bilateral relations to greater heights - even in new areas of cooperation, like the digital and green economy.

It was also a good opportunity to meet many Indonesian leaders in Jakarta and Central Java, to get to know them better and strengthen our relationships. Had good meetings today with Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan
Happy to be home!
