Lawrence wants to maintain close ties with Indonesia.

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, Indonesia and Singapore have maintained close ties. We have continued to work together, strengthening our cooperation in the economy and pandemic response. That is part of why our countries are in a stronger position than we were before, as we both reopen and emerge from the pandemic.
As I met with several leaders today, we reaffirmed our good relations and spoke about new areas of growth. Some highlights were:
• Discussed opportunities to step up mutual cooperation, with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment
Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan - including on climate change and sustainability.
• Also met Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy
Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and spoke about opportunities to deepen cooperation, while looking forward to exciting partnerships in new areas, such as sustainable tourism and creative industry.
• Discussed ways to advance our economic cooperation with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs
Airlangga Hartarto, including Kendal Industrial Park and Batam, Bintan and Karimun.
• Exchanged views with Central Java Governor
Ganjar Pranowo on human capital and infrastructure development, job creation and more.
