Also they outsource more staff , get the ex staff back from outsourcing firm, pay them lesser by hourly rated, no leave, no bonus, no aws. New tender for outsourcing yield zero tender from external firm

a vicious cycle - alot GLCs has practiced outsourcing in recent years...besides those that you read in the news.

and these contractors bid lower and lower each round just to get the contract. Then based on the cost (minus their profit margin), they hire / pay the workers at depressed wages.

like that, how not to lament Singaporeans are choosy and shun low paying jobs? Which,in turn gives justification for foreign labors.

In an elitist society, and one that encourages meritocracy, those who have succeeded will not want to know or empathise with the poorer segments. To do so, will mean being charitable and recognising that the poor are the reason for their wealth. To bring the poor up means the rich will have to give up some of their wealth to create a more equitable wealth distribution. As long as they can, they will turn a blind eye and a deaf ear until a time comes when a revolution will take place. This is a historical fact and the elites knows this, that is why they do provide the barest minimum to keep the poor at bay.

This is not true just 2 years alone NLB have retrenched or made 200++ lower position staff reduntant . Mainly diploma,O level and lesser academic . Almost all are 40 years old and above. Many new post are given out PRC and S Pass holders and and also PR who did not serve NS. As from last till now hiring have been froze and only limited contract staff are recruited.

Yes but the retrenchment took place in late 2008 supposed to have have 2nd round this year for their public service side and their back room dept, but halted cos no tender came forth. As to ppl who work for stat board or civil service, not all voted for the MIW . You will be surprise that many vote otherwise. As many in civil service serve as election officer, thus know that voting is indeed secret.

Dont buy into the you vote oppo you get marked thing. The vote counting process have been explained very carefully each time by the oppo leader, as our WP mp ms Sylvia lim have explained it very clearly even on rally. Don't be led to believe in rumors.

As for civil service voting for APs, yeah so what they voted for APs in 2011, i dulan they voted for papigs all those year b4 even though they knew the system is unfair. it only now fire burn their house then they change their mind. they farking deserved their treatment from papigs.

Reminder to vote the pappy out-as their policies favouring FT's means they will now have another reason to retrench "expensive" locals
in favour of so called cheaper FT's.

Recession in sillipore means boom town for Pinoy's,Indian FT's and PRC's.

Normally in a recession the employers have more bargaining power and uniquely in Sillipore ,will have the backing of the so called "unions" .
