Since so many suckers here believe all the crap the media is spewing out you might as well start wanking more too!

His food was very good and so was the service. It didn't make a ton of money simply because volumes are low in Auckland as the sprawling city has a pretty small population.

He was already doing takeaways but takeaways are cheaper than dining in so they just barely cover overheads.

With the drop in business over the last couple of months he is losing money. With the lease expiring he felt there was no point carrying on while being in the red monthly.

He may start up again later. It all depends upon how much longer this unnecessary paranoia will continue.

The same logic applies to my on line businesses. If hosting fees and other overheads come up to more than the revenue why bother carrying on? Earnings are down by more than 25% because everyone is scared shitless. SARs that killed 10% of those infected did not kill any of my websites. However this time round if revenue does not recover I'll call it a day too. It won't affect my lifestyle but those I employ will be hit harder if they aren't financially sound.

That's natural for any business whether there is Covid-19 or not. The prime focus of all governments around the world now is to set conditions that Covid-19 is effectively contained. It's a menace to precious human lives. Half hearted measures like what PAP government is doing in Singapore will never succeed. Further, businessmen like you can always restart your business in a few months time when the virus is contained.

New Zealand has done the right thing by quarantining everyone entering the country for 14 days. I applaud NZ Government's bold and decisive move. It will definitely be the first country to recover from this infectious crisis, and economically as well. The people of NZ will thank Ms Jacinda Ardern wholeheartedly in due course. Bite the bullet now rather than suffer unnecessary casualties for some selfish and elitist interest of businesses.

WELLINGTON: New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Saturday (Mar 14) that everyone entering the country from midnight Sunday must self isolate for 14 days in an effort to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.

People from small South Pacific island countries, which currently have no reported cases, will be exempted, Ardern said in a news conference. New Zealand has a large South Pacific islander population.

All cruise ships will also be told not to come to New Zealand until Jun 30, she said.
Ardern said these were "far-reaching and unprecedented" measures to tackle a global pandemic. New Zealand has six confirmed cases and has not recorded any deaths.

"But the scale of how many cases we get and how fast we get them is something we should do as much as we can to slow," she told reporters. "We must go hard and we must go early."

Ardern said the self-quarantine order would be reviewed after 16 days.

"There's no doubt this will have a significant impact on New Zealand's economy but our priority is to ensure we reduce the impacts of COVID-19 as much as we can," she said.

New Zealand has also cancelled a national remembrance service to mark Sunday's first anniversary of the Christchurch mosque attacks because of coronavirus fears.
"This is a pragmatic decision. We're very saddened to cancel, but in remembering such a terrible tragedy, we shouldn't create the risk of further harm being done," Ardern said in an earlier announcement.

Ardern said more general restrictions on public gatherings would be imposed but details had not yet been finalised.

Air New Zealand said it was reviewing the impact of the measures announced Saturday "and will adjust its capacity accordingly". The flag carrier has already scrapped its earnings guidance amid plummeting demand.
