you see a bird n think it can evolve into a lizard, a monkey into a man n a stone into a fish. Why it snake evolve with vocal cords? It's not impossible for evolution is it?

birds, lizards, monkeys, humans, fish & snakes may probably originate from a common ancestor in the distant past. we share a lot of similarities in the genetic make up. fish for example shares some 80% similarity in their genome compared to ours, monkeys share some 90% similarity in their genome compared to ours.
is it possible for stones to turn into fish? don't think so. is it possible for snakes to develop a vocal cord? they didn't have a vocal cord in the past, unless it is a survival need, it probably take a long time for them to develop one.
