They also took three computer monitors from the shop, which has made headlines in recent weeks for its questionable sales tactics.

The police said in a statement today that investigations against Mobile Air are ongoing.

The shop was closed for a little more than a week before reopening last Friday.

But, instead of Mr Jover Chew, the owner who is now known for refunding a customer $1,010 in coins, a Mr Ricky Lee was seen tending

The management council had sent a letter to the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) earlier to express their concern following recent reports of negative customer experiences.

At today's meeting, the members shared the challenges they faced over the years, and suggested that laws could be strengthened to punish errant retailers with harsher penalties.

Both sides agreed on the need to better protect consumers and rights of the majority of the law-abiding retailers to uphold Singapore's reputation as a retail destination, the MTI said in a statement today.

Mr Teo noted that there needs to be a collective effort among the Government, the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) and industry players such as the malls' management, retailers and consumers.

He said in the statement about today's meeting: "Today's session was useful as we discussed how we could work together to curb errant retailers. Both sides agree that more effective measures must be in place as such unfair business practices cannot be allowed to continue unheeded.

"The management council could implement some preventive measures in the interim as well as take a strong stand against errant retailers.

"While the police are investigating the case, we are also looking at enhancing our laws, strengthening the enforcement process and continuing with our engagement efforts.

"We urge consumers to continue exercising caution when making purchases, and retailers to be fair and professional."

What's the point of raiding the shop now, after so many weeks?

Might as well search his home PC see got any porn or not better.

I thought it is a new owner already? So police raid Mobile Air or the new shop?

Or both are the same?

It took alot of bad publicity before the PAP took action.

Damage to Spore's reputation is already done.

Poodles couldn't do anything on the day of the incident. Now, it goes on a full-scale invasion.

Suddenly, a minister is also involved.

So much for our pro-active government!
