LHL : “You have my word: Together with my older colleagues like Teo Chee Hean and Tharman Shanmugaratnam, as well as our younger fourth-generation (4G) ministers, I will see this through. I am determined to hand over Singapore, intact and in good working order, to the next team,” he said on Monday (July 6) during an online rally.

Isn't he too presumptuous to make this announcement ahead of the result of GE2020?
Think I heard Ng Eng Hen tell his defence minister counterparts a few days ago that he looked forward to meeting up with them later this year.

Make of this what you will.

Apologies for going off-topic on this thread but I am rather puzzled why the spotlight is focussed on Heng Swee Kiat and Chan Chun Sing for the next PM.
Why was Tan Chuan-Jin overlooked? I know he is currently the Speaker of Parliament but IMHO, he is head and shoulders above CCS in terms of both ability and experience. Plus his command of spoken English is so much better.
Was he lacking in ambition or did he simply not want the responsibility?

You have to ask why he was demoted from ministar to speaker in the first place. My take on this is that apparently, he had told LHL that the Manpower Ministar job was more demanding than he had expected. That put LHL off him. LHL likes people to por his lumpar and to show that they are very capable, (even if they are not) prime examples are Keechiu, KBW, and Jo Teo.

This paper general a bit of a cry baby lah.

Recall during the debate over the ministerial high wages a few years back, this fella said cannot go too low because must understand the sacrifices he is making ie cannot spend time with his aged parents and children.

Yeah right, boo hoo boo.

Boo Friggin' Hoo.
