Like this call racist or not?

IT WAS the first day of school, and Dharshini Ariska, six, was in for a shock.

The Primary 1 pupil, who had been studying Mandarin since her nursery days, was expecting to go for her Chinese lesson.

Instead, she was sent to a Tamil language class and ended up disappointed.

When school ended on Tuesday, her Balinese mother Ms Yuyun Agustina went to see the principal and was told that "because your husband is Tamil, your daughter must study Tamil."

yes!

the daughter and mother are racists for being disappointed when sent to a tamil language class!

the father is racist for not marrying a tamil!

the father and daughter is tamil and they want her to learn chinese ?!?
these kelings are the biggest racists as they cant stand their own kind and are constantly trying to disassociate with their own.

Its not racist. It shows the inflexibility and the flaws of the education system in Singapore. During my school days there are many Indians that chose to study Mandarin rather then Tamil. Their reason, why should they study a language that doesn't help them in the future. Tamil is only one of many languages in India. Being proficient in it doesn't get you far in the sub continent.

Mix marriages kids are very cute. Next time high chance to be beautiful.

Words coming from a real first world country, like Australia, is totally insightful

she should study Tamil in school, that's her father's language. maybe also continue to study Chinese outside.

i thought now change already, one can chose to study either parents' mother tongue in school?

they are just giving excuses. they are racists as well.

if a chinese were to say that to an indian "why study a language that doesn't help them in the future"? they would be deemed racist and biggots.

for years if Malay and Indian kids can study Chinese why can't this kid study what her parents want? Strange.

If anything the language choices offered in Singapore is simply too limited. I would have loved to learn Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German during my primary school days.

父母的错! Having a Rojak kid with serious identity problems.

This only shows how fuck up Sinkie education is.

only two ways about it, either very cute or very strange. have u seen an asian looking baby with blonde eyebrows?

or some clerk screw up. see indian name and automatically enrol the student in tamil class

Mother's tongue right? should be bahasa Indonesia, not Chinese or Tamil, the school daft, the child is a "chap cheng", so Chinese won't be wrong. Don't think the father can speak or write Tamil, I have known some, who speak Malay to their Tamil grandparents & can't write a single word of Tamil.

now they also can chose to use either parent's 'race' on their ic.

i wonder why they always chose the other race instead of indian?
