Serious SG51 SIA.EX 222 pax mass escaped @ Changi Air port from BURT SQ368! HUAT!

In this situation, the tower ( ATC ) and the pilots would be in radio contact. ATC would also be in radio contact with the guy in charge of the fire services. At times this guy would assess the fire from the outside as the fire engines are heading towards the plane. If, in his assessment there is no need to evacuate then he would communicate this to ATC , who would then relay the info to the pilots. ATC can also put the pilots in contact with the fire services guy on a seperate frequency for them to arrive at a decision without ATC inputs.
The latest I hear now is that this was the case.

Kiasi sinkee captain doesn't dare to order emer evacuation because he will need to justify to his boss. Emer evac costs more money.

Singapore is a country blessed by God. We were led by a very competent PAP for 60 years while other promising countries ended up broke because they were led by morons. We never once suffered a serious natural calamity while our neighbours suffered from floods, droughts, earthquakes. No military conflict either. We are God's chosen country. No surprise that we once again escaped calamity.

You just wait ...god's wrath is on sinkapore.

most likely cockpit crew assessed raging fire in the wings would pose certain danger to evacuating passengers plus the prospect of passengers getting in the way of emergency trucks attempting to dowse the fire. the latter was what happened to ariana airlines at sfo. death was from emergency truck running over passenger lost in the foam.

It is to save money lah.

finally, the pap bashers are out in force.......as expected.

In reality, the SQ pilots are idiots for not giving an evacuation order through the other side of the plane while the fire fighters are putting out the flames. What happens if they run out of foam and the fire is still not contained?

everybody can be a monday morning quarterback on limited hindsight. there's more to the background and facts on the tarmac than just a video shot. the fact that all passengers and crew survive unscathed proves beyond a doubt that the atc, cockpit crew, and emergency response units did an excellent job. the accident at sfo where a fire truck ran over a passenger who evacuated and remained lying down in a foam bath illustrated the dangers of uncoordinated actions. if any passenger were to die or suffer injuries as a result of a panicky evacuation, the bashers will be here anyway to kpkb. sbf is well known for laymen and lamers to kpkb with wild imaginations and why not how cum scenarios as though they are experts in every field.

The fire commander had already indicated to the pilots that evacuation was going to be hazardous because of the fire on the ground due to spilt fuel.
If the pilots had ordered the evacuation against the advice of the fire commanded and lives were lost during the evacuation the people here will hammer the decision, the pilots and the Airline even more.
Its just too bad their hate here makes people post the way they do without being rational.

That shows the SQ pilots are idiots. Why couldn't they coordinate with the airport emergency services to allow for an evacuation on the other side of the plane? They have more than enough time to think this through while they dragged this plane back to sinkieland.

We are not posting our hate. Such a huge fire definitely warrants an evacuation at the moment the fire trucks had "seemingly" contained the fire. We do not know if there will be secondary explosions or not. The passengers of this plane are just pure lucky.

Is SIA going the same way as MRT? The incident would not have happened had the pre-flight checks had been thorough. Hence, it boils down to maintenance issues. Are the technical staff in the maintenance section qualified and from reputable technical institutes? If they are Singaporeans there is no fear but if they are foreigners there is a nagging thought they could be holding bogus qualifications.

Next, the pilots. Why did they opt to fly for more than 2 hours with with a leaky engine instead of landing at the nearest airport?

Rubbish reasons.

Trial of leaked fuel is only BEHIND plane, and NEVER INFONT. Moreover, it is on the Starboard / Right side only, while Port / Left side is NOTHING. So only Right-Rear of flight is unsafe for escape the rest of directions are safe to flee to safety.

Video indicated wind was strongly taking smoke towards rear of plane. So front and sides are clear of smoke.

Boring 777-300 got 8 emergency exits with a slide each to flee:

Ultra Ultra Stupid to keep passengers Endangered inside a burning plane. KNN!

Is PAP trying to burn a Boeing 777-300 with 200+ peasants to LKY side for 7th Month? Huh? WAF!?

Are not oil leaks that uncommon in civil aviation? Given the excellent service record of the B-777, I'm surprised that this is the first time it's led to a potential catastrophe.
Do you think (as I do) it's a maintenance issue or a structural problem with the design of the (GE) engine?

Changi Airport's world best fire fighting was alike the SGP Ah Neh CAR WASH, while passengers sit inside the car got a shower is it?
