[Sg video] - Cyclist who chiong pedestrian crossing kena hit by Sienta and flew up in the air

Hopefully the driver ends up in jail for a long, long time. We cannot have these sorts of reckless lunatics on the streets ignoring the road rules.

https://sso.agc.gov.sg/SL-Rev/276-R24/Published/19920325?DocDate=19920325

Precedence for pedestrians
4. The driver of a vehicle who is in the process of turning his vehicle at a road intersection or junction where there is a pedestrian crossing shall stop his vehicle in order to give way to any pedestrian who is either crossing or is starting to cross the intersection or junction.
Vehicle approaching crossing to slow down
5. The driver of every vehicle approaching a pedestrian crossing shall, unless he can see that there is no pedestrian thereon, proceed at such speed as will enable him to stop his vehicle before reaching the crossing.

The onus is still on the motorist to ensure that the pedestrian crossing is clear. This loony driver is in big trouble.
so u say the cyclist totally not at fault for dashing across when the light is already green and in favour of sienta driver

Hopefully the idiotic cyclist gets a bad fracture and learn how to follow the traffic light in future. I can see that the light turned green for at least 2 seconds in the favour of the driver.

That does not give the driver the right to mow down the cyclist in an act of cold blooded murder. Motorists need to ensure that everyone has cleared the crossing first.

He may have caused his own misfortune but the onus is on the cars to ensure that everyone has finished crossing before proceeding. It is clearly stated in the road code.

Cyclists should really dismount and walk across the road like a pedestrian. Unless you are an old fart who has difficulty mounting a bike.

They're already putting up signs asking cyclists to dismount when crossing an overhead bridge.

The law does not require cyclists to dismount.

Clearly u have never driven a car before. When you drive a car, your focus is primarily at the front. And the cyclist had cycled from a blind spot abruptly. 2 secs after the light turned green in driver’s favor and so he drove!

So basically pedestrians can do what they want on the road? Even lie on it for the whole day without repercussions?

The driver very sway…lang gah someone without insurance claim.

Ownself claim ownself and lose NCB.

The rules refer to obligations of motorists at pedestrian crossings and not anywhere on the road.

i am a good and obedient cyclist. i always obey all traffic rules and never ever attempt to beat any traffic lights not in my favour.

Cycling is fast enough but don't have time to wait at traffic junctions...what can I say...
