Is this something we should be proud of? I always wonder about all these funny street food ranking exercises. What's the use of coming in first? Does it benefit Singaporeans in a tangible and material way? Does it make our cost of living lower? Does it make our lives better?

I always find the when a hawker stall gets popular, the price goes up and the quality of food drops. It becomes a very passionless and mechanical production of the dish to maximize profits instead of letting consumers enjoy the good quality food at reasonable prices.

Wow, so proud of our street food ranking!! Although technically we do not have street food. Only hawker food, served in small portions at high prices, and taste like crap. And I also wonder how much STPB paid CEOWorld magazine for this 2019 survey, a publication most of us have never heard of.

WTF? Malaysia is not even in the 50th position and many forumers here always claim that Malaysia's hawker food is better than Singapore's.

I had always said that Malaysia's hawker food is very much over hyped. Compared to Singapore, theirs contain lesser ingredients, more oily and use lots of MSG. They are mostly unhealthy. Also, only a few of their selected restaurants can be considered on par with Singapore's.
