Most moslems are also unaware that there was no unified arabic language during the time of mahomet. The quran that they read today is based on the 1924 Cairo standardized version.

Having only one particular version of quran is a modern islamic teaching. moslems hundreds of years ago were aware that allah sent down at least seven different qurans, each quran in the dialect of a major arab tribe dialect. The various qurans were similar but not identical.
