[Sg] PAP says they are just as surprised as Opposition parties on the updates to the electoral boundaries, but they'll continue to serve best they can

This response most interesting...just shows politics is farking dirty. After Dr Chee lost marginaly in last GE to that kumlan crying Ah Neh, PAP die die cannot allow yet another likes of LMW to give PAP more hell in parliament, LOL:

Politics is neutral, dirty people make it dirty.

It's just like fire, it can be a useful tool, but for arsonists it's something else.

P.S: Less than two weeks to the 10th anniversary of 'Get well soon' (23 March 2025). I expect the PAP regime to make some moves on that day.

They'll continue to serve? Serve who? More like they want the dumb sinkie peasants to continue serving them like royalties.

After you come in pussy of a virgin you roll over and look surprised that you couldn't stop yourself. If you get pregnant here's a $400 voucher to get rid of the bastard

everybody is surprised, including those who redrew the boundaries. “omg! can’t believe this! boundaries are so drastically different.” joked the team over the draft. oh yeah.

What is the role and composition of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC)?

22 January 2025

What does EBRC do?

Voting Ballot Box

The role of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee is to determine the electoral boundaries for use at future elections taking into account population shifts and new housing developments. It does not examine the results of past elections or profile of voters when delineating the new boundaries.

The Committee comprises civil servants
who are experts in these technical areas:

  • Secretary to Prime Minister (Chairperson)
  • Chief Executive Officer, Housing & Development Board (Member)
  • Chief Executive, Singapore Land Authority (Member)
  • Chief Statistician, Department of Statistics (Member)
  • Head, Elections Department (Secretary)

CECA should be one of the main issue in this coming election, many hundreds of thousands of local jobs were lost and are at risk for those still holding a job!

1) vote for opposition, ANY opposition.
2) opposition MUST avoid 3 corner fights
3) votes PRIORITY goes to 1st tier opposition parties :WP, PSP, SDP.,
then 2nd tier opposition parties RDU, PV, SDA, DPP, PPP, SPP, RP, NSP etc..

Been thinking about the boundary changes. So what if you realise that your neighbourhood has been hived off into an SMC? It is still GRC plus one. SM Lee Hsien Loong pointed this out to Jalan Kayu residents in Ang Mo Kio GRC and Ong Ye Kung did the same for Sembawang West residents in Sembawang GRC.

That’s true. PAP SMCs don’t run their own town councils but are lumped together with at least one GRC for economies of scale. The WP, however, cannot say the same, like tell the 3K or so voters who have found themselves on the PAP side of the fence in Tampines GRC that we will ‘take care’ of you.

Ask yourself what will happen if the EBRC drew lines that put PAP territory under the Opposition? Remember Potong Pasir under Chiam See Tong which kept shrinking until recent years? The decision to keep lines intact was a political one. People were happy it wasn’t subsumed into a GRC but it works the other way too - why wasn’t it enlarged?

If you look at the size of Aljunied GRC, the voter numbers are simply reduced from by that 3K or so voters. At 144K with the re-drawing, it is still smaller than three other 5-member GRCs. So is this about making the boundaries ‘neat’ because those in Tampines should belong in Tampines?

You can justify any electoral change any which way. The double-barreled names are said to reflect better the identities of the different areas. But they are also a way to justify the GRC’s existence. So Marine Parade GRC has been renamed Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC to remove the joke about Braddell Heights being anything ‘marine’. But you can also say that it should be re-named Marine Parade-MacPherson GRC because MP Tin Pei Ling has carved out an identity for her MacPherson residents.

It is beneficial for the ruling party but disadvantageous for the opposition, why not the other way?
