The F&B hawkers make at least $100,000 in sales during the ramadan bazaar. Even with a $50k costs, they will all walk away much richer at the end of the bazaar.
Our CCC has organized ramadan bazaars in the past. We're aware of how much the F&B bazaar tenants make each year on average. The rent may seem high to outsiders, but the F&B tenants mostly make sizeable profits. That's why many of them return yearly.

Maybe so, but you elbow out the local family home cooked food as for them, setting up stall is just to earn some income for raya. They are not into mass manufactured food.

It's also a legally gray area to sell your home cooked food to the public. Your home business is not held to the same standards of hygiene as established restaurants and hawker stalls, all of which incurred additional business costs for hygiene maintenance.
I kind of pity this girl. It's the fucking sky high rentals and it's the same situation in every pasar malams. Young FNB entrepreneurs like her should just do her business online or she better off rent a proper shop instead of renting a stall for a month and be at the mercy of these bloodsucking bazaar landlords.
