(Morning News) A married man pretended to be an intermediary for more than a year to help a strange woman find escort clients. He not only asked for private videos, but also pretended to be clients and slept with the woman, and even threatened the husband who posted the video on the Internet and sent it to the woman. months.
The defendant is Kendrick Liu Kenli, 33, who is married with a five-year-old daughter. He faces six charges including distributing intimate videos, deception and intimidation.
The case was heard in the National Court on Monday (March 6). Liu Kenli admitted four of them. The judge considered the rest and finally sentenced the defendant to 57 months in prison.
According to the facts of the case, in January 2020, the defendant uploaded an advertisement "Looking for celebrities" on the online platform, and a 28-year-old woman contacted the defendant after seeing the advertisement in December of the same year.
The defendant cheated the woman to earn 6,000 yuan a month, but asked her to provide her private photos and videos so that "clients" could get to know her. During the chat, the defendant, after knowing the occupation of the woman's husband, falsely claimed that he could introduce clients and asked for the woman's husband's contact information.
On January 8, 2021, the defendant informed that a "client" would pick up the woman to the hotel, and that the woman would get 1,150 yuan as long as she completed the "work".
In fact, the "client" was the defendant himself, who had sex with the woman and recorded the process on video.
After the defendant succeeded, he could not read back several text messages from the woman. From February 2 to 3, 2021, the woman who had not received 1,150 yuan asked the defendant if he was pretending to be a "client" and asked him to pay.
The defendant admitted that he was "testing for customers" and even asked the victim to provide more videos, otherwise the earlier videos would be posted online and given to the woman's husband.
Because the woman did not follow the instructions, the defendant sent the sex video and photos to the woman's husband.
After watching the video, the woman's husband begged the defendant not to repost the video, and even offered to buy the video for 10,000 yuan, but the defendant ignored it and instructed her husband to call the woman back.
The woman called the police on February 3, 2021, and the defendant was arrested the next day. The police found a private photo of another victim in the defendant's mobile phone.
The defendant admitted that he had sex with at least two women through the "Looking for a Socialite" ad.
The defendant said in court that because his wife is now six weeks pregnant and needs time to deal with private matters, he applied for a deferment of sentence. The judge granted the application to allow the accused to serve his sentence from March 20.
