All this while the poor solitary girl was not allowed to retaliate, says the STOMPer, who came across this disturbing sight.
One girl, who appeared to be 10 years old, was seen surrounded by a group of similarly-aged children at a playground. She is hit, humiliated, and cannot even fend for herself.
So was this all innocent fun between friends? Or something more insidious?
D emailed STOMP on Jan 22 and said:
"This group of kids (approx P4-P6) were at the play area right beside Bukit Merah Public Library and were seen smoking in groups and were hazing the young girl with bag straps and she was asked to stand while the others threw rubbish at her.
"The whole fiasco went on for over half an hour in broad daylight in front of other much younger preschool kids playing in the playground.
"It was approximately 12 vs 1 with the young girl (est P4) not being allowed to retaliate while the boy (in green) and the bigger girls were hitting her continuously."
