During the exchange, Ezra Jeet Singh says: "Tell them you're a coward."

Ismail Mohd Dawan then turns to the other passengers in the cabin, raises his hands and says loudly: "I am a coward."

The rest of the commuters who kept silent and allowed the idiot to bully an elderly man are the real cowards. :frown:

No. They are NOT cowards. There was no physical violence. It is only words, even of abuse used. "Sticks & stones will break my bones but words will not kill me", so the saying goes.

The culprit seems agitated, & should be checked for mental health as well as if he was drunk or high on drugs while abusing our elderly man with words. There are cameras everywhere nowadays, & so long as there is no physical violence, then may everyone just stay calm, ignore the garbage spewed by the culprit BUT ensure the incident is reported, so that justice may be served & help offered to the culprit to rehabilitate him, rather than to aggravate or escalate the situation to violence.

However, should there be physical violence, rest assured someone would stand up to stop it before more harm will come to our elderly folks. The insignificant nobody me would, if I was there. This is Singapore & proven by the few incidents of violence that happened before & the rise of courageous Humans, men & women whom stood up to stop it, even at their own personal safety.

This Bayee only 19yrs old n already gone crazy making a nuisance in public..
This fella will be a burden to society down the road!

Where's the fucking useless Transcom cops when you need them. More and more siao langs are using the public transports. I'm disgusted that there was no one among the passengers to intervene on behalf of this old man. This young mental Keling deserves good punch on his face.

The problem is with the juristic system of Singapore. If someone stood up & ended with a fight with the young man, it will be considered public disturbance. Both parties will be charged in court. Is it not stupid if someone attack you, you cannot fight back but only back off, so what is the point of having all these martial arts schools in Singapore to teach people self defence. By defending yourself, of course you need to attack to bring him down but that is considered public disturbance. That is also the reason our enforcers are always beaten up while trying to restraint criminals. Is it not a stupid juristic system we have in Singapore. Correct me if I am wrong

I think if u stand up n defend the old muud yoyo uncle from that bully n a fight started, I doubt the SPF will charge u for public disturbance imo! There has to be some justice in the system.

Justice is blind, but it is tampered with compassion.

Lawyers will fight it out in Court, but ultimately, it is the Judge whom interpret legislated laws, considers every angle, & then pronounce the sentence, & for sure, Singapore's judicial system are not made up of fools, or else we would had ended up like corrupted African states. Even enforcers of the law - our hardworking SPF, does take a similar view once initial investigations on spot are made, whom will recommend actions to be taken, if necessary as most are civil cases, to the Court for judgement.

Here lies the difference between 法制国家 vs 法治国家. Sounds the same in Chinese, but very different concepts. It's lost in translation: 'rule by law'.
