While shopping for a CCTV camera, STOMPer Radha came across a rude service staff whom she said was reluctant to help her. She later found out that this has been an ongoing issue with most non-star marked shops in Sim Lim Square.
She recounts her experience to STOMP:
“I went to Sim Lim Square to buy a CCTV camera (full set with recording device).
“First I checked every shop to check their price offered.
“Then I decided to go to the second floor.
“When I asked the sales person about the product and price, he replied showing me only non branded items.
“I explained my requirement and asked him to show me the product.
“He refused to explain and also behaved very rude.
“So I decided to go down to the first floor to complain to the Sim Lim Square management.
“They told me that they received so many complaints about this type of shops (1st storey, 2nd storey, non-star marked shops) that they have no idea on how to deal with them.
“They then advised me to buy the product from "star marked shops", which had a better reputation.”
