SP Setia wins ‘Best Employer’ award for seventh time

PETALING JAYA: Property developer SP Setia Bhd bagged the ‘Best Employer’ award for the seventh time at the Aon Hewitt Best Employers 2016 award ceremony.

This came on top of a special recognition for its ‘Commitment to Engagement’ award.

President and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Khor Chap Jen said it was a huge honour for team Setia to have won the award for the seventh time.

“Our strong teamwork has always been the hallmark of SP Setia culture.

“It is gratifying to see many of our staff stepping up on their own to take on greater challenges and responsibility and I would like to thank everyone of them for all the hard work and dedication that each team member has put in to contribute to Setia’s growing success,” said Khor in a release.

How much they pay to get that title?

Kuala Lumpur, 15 August 2016 – Sime Darby Property steered into its new financial year with impressive double award wins within a week, reinforcing its position as a leading property developer in Malaysia and South East Asia.

At the South East Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) 2016 ceremony held at the InterContinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 11 August 2016, Sime Darby Property was honoured with the Best Developer (Malaysia) award, the highest accolade of the evening.

The award presented by Y.A.M. Tunku Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz was received by Dato’ Wan Hashimi Albakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri, Chief Operating Officer of SimeDarby Property. Sime Darby Property was also presented with a Special Recognition Award in Sustainable Development, in recognition of its commitment in developing sustainable homes and communities.

Sime Darby Property managing director, Dato’ Ir. Jauhari Hamidi said, “Sime Darby Property is humbled, winning the top industry accolade for the Best Developer (Malaysia) award, and would like to thank the organisers of SEAPA (Malaysia) 2016 for the honour. This is indeed a motivation for us to further strive in ensuring we deliver better products, and services in the future.”

“We are also proud that our efforts in developing sustainable communities have been recognised with the Special Recognition Award in Sustainable Development. This is a great push towards our aim to be the number one sustainable property developer in Malaysia and beyond.”
Award winners were nominated by industry peers, industry professionals and consumers and adjudicated by an independent panel of industry experts.

Winners of country level awards will go on to represent their country at the South East Asia Property Awards grand finale in Singapore.
Following the SEAPA (Malaysia) 2016 success, Sime Darby Property further bolstered its status as a leading brand in property development by bringing home its seventh consecutive Gold award at the Putra Brand Awards 2016, held at the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 12 August 2016.

The award which Sime Darby Property has continuously won since its inception in 2010, is a testament of the trust the developer has gained from the public towards its brand, products and services.

(This one better than best employer won by SP Setia. Ironically both Sime Darby and SP Setia are sister companies, but performed differently)

Are you guys surprised?
I've seen plenty of places like this, or even worse throughout Malaysia. I really hope they'll start doing something about it in the near future. It's one of the fastest-developing countries after all...
