Some people have mentioned that our local press is not fair when writing about political parties. But I think what can or cannot be written in our press goes beyond just politics. What is deemed as "sensitive" seemingly fails to get reported or seemingly disappears "from the radar".
Some examples if you can recall:
1. There was a case where a singaporean woman in thailand hired a killer to kill a caucasian man who owed her some money and refused to pay. This case has seemingly been forgotten. Why? To discourage people with evil and funny ideas?
2. Remember the case where the husband of a top civil servant was stabbed in Desaru? This case has seemingly faded into oblivion. Why? Can't have our top civil servants and their spouses embroiled in such cases, can we?
3. Cases where couples (male-male or male-female) are found dead in hotel rooms or in their own rooms due to "mysterious causes". I can remember in particular one case where one of the victims was under the bed and another case where the couple was found dead in a budget hotel? Why? Does someone know them?
4. In other countries, like Taiwan for example, you find the media exposing lots of cases involving infidelities, especially prominent businessmen and government officials. Unfortunately, some are even made up. In good old singkieland, you never get to read about such cases, even though there are many. Why? Because important and rich men must be allowed to have their fun, without having everyone know about it.
