ban the video app.
He wants to share everything TikTok is doing to protect Americans using the platform and assure them the social media site is safe.
Shou Zi Chew is from Singapore and became the company’s CEO in 2021 after Bytedance founder Zhang Yiming stepped down.

Meet Shou Zi Chew’s wife Vivian Kao
The TikTok CEO’s wife is called Vivian Kao and works in investment. They met at Harvard Business School in 2008 and she is Taiwanese American.
Her LinkedIn
profile reveals she is an independent non-executive director at Sun Hung Kai & Co, an investment company headquartered in Hong Kong.
Based in Singapore, she is also CEO and principal of Tamarind Global and on the board of trustees at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.
Vivian graduated with a BA in economic and chinese studies from the school before going on to get an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Do they have kids?
The pair have two young children together who the CEO recently said are eight and six, although their names are not known.
In a March 2023
interview, the entrepreneur revealed his kids’ ages and said they don’t use TikTok as he believes they are “too young for that”.
“TikTok here in the US, if you are below 13, you get a very restrictive version of TikTok,” he continued, adding that many countries don’t allow users under 13 at all.
He then said that legally, there isn’t a way he could stop kids from having access to TikTok.

Born in Singapore, Shou also worked in investment and finance before becoming TikTok CEO and speaking in front of
Congress.
He was the chief financial officer at Bytedance, TikTok’s parent company, and was promoted to CEO after Zhang Yiming’s departure.
The executive attended an elite Chinese-language school and spent time in Singapore’s armed forces before studying in London and the US.
He gained a bachelor’s degree in economics from University College London and MBA from Harvard Business School.
Then, Shou worked at Goldman Sachs, investment firm DST and was chief financial officer at Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi
