You see, people Buddhist Lodge can unreservedly give free daily vegetarian food to poor and hungry people and free bursaries to needy students of all faiths. Even Malay and Indian students can
apply from them.

What about you Christians? You only care about yourselves, your own same-same religious believers, and insult fellow Sporns of all other faiths in your fucking cell group discussions.

Its a bloody farce. Go to Hell all these sh!t heads I'm an atheist and more holy than most of these Xtains fundamentalists. In the first place, alot of these hardcore Xtians evangelists play childish mind games, insult you by telling that your are "impure" and use alot of guilt trips with you telling you , you have "sinned" in the first place. Then offer you a "way out " by playing on your fears by telling you about hell if you do not convert. Then after converting they "extort" money from you by asking you to tithe every month and if you don't you do not get into his "great lord" good books. The money and tithe goes towards paying the pastors Mercs, condos etc. Give me a break!!!! Look at it truthfully and don't tell me that's it not ALL a big con job or ponzi scheme??? I find this concept of tithe very interesting!.

Is it a compulsory to give tithe every month, pretty much like CPF contribution?.

And if a person is out of work or need money urgently, can he/she ask for financial help from these churches that they have contributed to?.

Who should received more?. The parents, they give life to the person or The Church, the "promise" of eternal life and a place in heaven after death.

Nobody knows who he - or she - is, what he does, or even how tall or short he is.
The only mark of identification is his donation: Four or five wads of folded $1,000 bills, adding up to $40,000 or $50,000 - every month.
On Sunday morning, staff at the Lodge found the contribution as the temple in Kim Yam Road opened to its followers.
As in previous drop-offs, the money lay at the bottom of the metal donation box in front of a 3m-tall Buddha statue in the temple kitchen.
Four separate bundles added up to $47,000.
The chairman of the Lodge, Mr Lee Bock Guan, said he believes the donations come from one person.
'You know it is the same person, because the notes always come in the same way, in four or five neat bundles,' said Mr Lee.
'Separate donations, the notes are usually loose.'
After three years, that is roughly $1.5 million in cold, hard cash - a big-hearted amount, more so in this recession.
A small security camera eyes the donation box but Mr Lee said the Lodge has no plans to discover the mysterious donor's identity.
He said: 'The donor could have written a cheque. By donating in cash, he prefers to be unknown.
'We thank this person but will not try to find out who he is.'
The Singapore Buddhist Lodge serves more than 1,000 free meals daily and up to 6,000 on weekends.
It spends $210,000 a month on its daily buffet and plans to spend more, as more people come forward for financial help. This year, the group also increased its education bursary budget from $1 million to $1.2 million, even as its donations have dipped by about 20 per cent. It has about $10 million in reserves.

dude , the reason why some religion donate or run hopsital is simple . for example you make $10 but you give back $3 to society . and when people see it , they will donate more money ...end of the day more people will donate , and you will get more then $10 ....those religion are using this tactics to make more $ ...

this is the problem with you guys...back with the generalised broad brush statements...that are simply not true...have you even heard of the assisi hospice and do you know what it does and how it manages to operate?...please lah, you want to attack, make sure you be specific and come up with concrete evidence, don't just anyhow hantam blindly based on your apparent bias attitude to religious organisations that run charitable hospitals/hospices...yes there are bad apples but that does not mean the whole applecart is bad...

dude , the reason why some religion donate or run hopsital is simple . for example you make $10 but you give back $3 to society . and when people see it , they will donate more money ...end of the day more people will donate , and you will get more then $10 ....those religion are using this tactics to make more $ ...
