Season parking ticket holders at a carpark in Toa Payoh*were shocked to receive an email informing them that they had to pay an additional $40 for parking entitlement at Singapore General Hospital (SHG), or lose their ticket entirely.

Multiple netizens who were affected by the announcement posted their frustrations online, along with screenshots of the email they received from the company managing the carpark premises.

The email reads:

"Dear Parker, Please note that as of 1 May 2016, you will be entitled to park at Singapore General Hospital (MacAlister*car park) with map attached at an additional fee of $40 per month.
This new add-on fee will be effective on 1 May 2016.

"Please call us at 64115592 or write to [email protected] if you wish to opt out of this package, which in that case we cannot renew your season parking at Toa Payoh 1 Mapletree car park.

"If you do not reply by 18th April 2016, we will proceed to programme your season parking at SGH*MacAlister*car park.

"Best regards, Seasons Department."

One netizen said, "If you want to increase the price, just say so. Why come up with a stupid bundle?"

Is this person Mr.Parker, or the name is Parker? "Dear Parker"??? if not, a Dear Sir or Madam, would suffice. What kind of written English is 'Dear Parker" if the person is referring to this person who park his vehicle?....from PRC?, from Philippines , from India, from Myanmar...

Should address the person parking...as "Dear FARKER"....you now, have to pay $40 extra..like it or fark off.... ha ha ha ha

Many years ago, probably during the old guards' period, Sunday free parking was implemented to encourage visitings of relatives and friends. I thought that was one of the very rare good-intentioned implementation by G, not that is is free.

However, as provened ever so often again, this bunch of money-grabbers slowly but surely reversed the Sunday/public holiday free parking in HDB car parks citing 'demand from residents, rather than the real reason of generating more revenue to cover their car park-ERP system.

Well, this bundle with Sgh car park takes the cake. Wonder if the 70% in TPY will accept the increase, or lose their existing season parking, lying down.

Is this April Fool's Day still? Why not say can park at New York for an additional USD 1,000?

They did careful calculations that $40 increase the dumbos will take it lying down.
Vote swing at most is minimal...
If they can increase $100 they will.....
