Chitchat Schooling's award - $1 million award or $800k?

This has already been mentioned he won't get the full million. He needs to donate 20% to the swimming assosciation and taxed a certain percentage so he's left with around 600k at around 60-70% of themillion

So, they should stop saying that the award is $1 million

like that also kpkb. sinkies have too much leisure time on their hands, and for that we have to thank the pap.

u guys need to stop complaining otherwise the government might cut down the prize for the next olympic medal to 100k.and then we can kiss our ass goodbye to seeing another medal ft or not for the next 50 years.

People can disallow the govt to dictate and rules and plans onto them. There is no need to give them the authority to decide on any rules that they make.

http://news.asiaone.com/news/singapore/schoolings-1m-award-be-used-pay-loans

The 21-year-old, Singapore's only medallist at the Rio Games, claimed the 100m butterfly gold and the $1 million award from the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) that comes with it, the first Singapore athlete to do so. Of this, 20 per cent will be given to the SSA for training and development, as stipulated by the SNOC.

Schooling will get about $661,650 after taxes.

This should put Singapore on the map and attract all sorts of FTs to migrate and become Singaporeans.....
