One of my friend's email got hacked into and this was sent out to many recipients. Please be careful bros.

Hope you get this on time, Sorry I didn't inform you about my trip to Spain for a programme,I'm having some difficulties here because I misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel were my money and cellphone were been kept.

Presently my passport and my things are been held down by the hotel management pending when I make payment.

I need you to help me with a loan of 2,850 Euros to pay my hotel bills and get myself back home. I've been to the embassy and Police, but they are not responding to the matter effectively,I'll appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with,I promise to refund you back your money as soon as I return, let me know if you can be of any help? ASAP.

I don't have a phone where I can be reached. I am so confused right now.

Please let me know immediately.

Thanks.

Recently, I also received a few in a span of within a week, but under different names. One of the name is a sinke name, another two are angmo names.

A friend of mine also had the same experience but she was in France or Italy. Everyone in her contact list received the mail.

This email scam has been going on for so long and it is a wonder if anybody would fall for it.

The biggest scam in history is still religion ..

This is not new. They hacked into someone's email and send to the contacts in address book asking for money to be sent over. All along the same storyline, stuck in Spain kinda crap. I knew of this lecturer whose email was hacked and all his friends and contacts who received this scam email thought he was in serious trouble and were frantically trying to reach him. Later found it was a scam. First it was Nigeria scam, now Spain...it just wouldn't go away....

Are those being targetted using specific email providers e.g. yahoo mail, google mail,.....

thanks for the replies bros. For your info , just like the Three Dog Night, my friends have never been to Spain so this letter is rubbish.

I guess 99% of the bros here are quite streetwise and alert to these scams ....its just for the other small group who may be vulnerable due to

inexperience or stuck with low IQ ala my best friend Clinton.

Ha ha con man.
He can use hotel phone to call family/friend for help.

There was this phone call that i received few years back when i was recalled back to Singapore, chinese speaking bugger on the phone crying that he has run down somebody & are in real deep shit!

I played along & told him to wait for me at the police station at Tanglin where he was held & called another number in 30 minutes time as the phone number he called is running low on battery & i will bring cash of 10k to bail him out!

30 minutes later, i was still enjoying my coffee & cheese cake & he called the number which belong to a DSP & his number was traced & he was up the lorry within two hours, turn up a PRC dog! Does he not know that this scam was so 80's & they should spent time to find out that they have a better chance of success if the respondent was a ignorant housewife in her 70s, instead of any numbers & anyone? Typical PRC mentality, mass production, no quality, no depth, no substance in everything they do!

No idea! But then again, how did all these other telemarketing company get our numbers? Our numbers are being sold in batches by the service providers to whoever that is willing to pay the price! Legally can they do that?
