San Francisco is deteriorating': Asian victim considers moving out of state after brutal attack

It's a blue state so what do you expect? Blue states are going downhill rapidly because of their ridiculous over-the-top responses to what is a relatively mild disease.

Shows you know diddly squat. Massachusetts is a so called blue state. Guess who got their undergrad Degree there? Me. Go on, I'd love to see you insult MIT, Harvard, Williams, Tufts and the great city of Boston.

One of these days you should try making sense.

That is most ridiculous head line I ever heard. If it is bad in SF where there many Asians, it will be better else where there is less? :o-o:

We dont accept gays. Only white racists intent on killing. Our flavor of the month is Asian. We like seeing Asians die in March.

Asswipe Trump even 2 days ago said it

asians are in fact hiding behind wealthier and more powerful whites to help protect them from leftist low lives, blm niggers, hispanic illegals, and white trash. without these whites in charge, it’ll be a free for all with the most aggressive group (niggers) victimising the most muted minority (tiongs, chinks, gooks, japs). this happened before during the rodney king riots in los angeles. instead of taking it out against police and white communities, niggers and hispanics ransacked and burned asian homes and businesses, and killed and maimed many asian shop owners.

There are many here who would deny what is happening. In 2020 the 2x impeached one term ex President first said "its just a flu" and "it will go away" then when it did not and he got caught doing nothing, he then called it a "China Virus" or "kung flu virus" many people of Asian descent were verbally attacked by "Trump Terrorists" usually White Men and Women, some latinos and several black people.

Many people in the past year have attacked asians but only now is the media really seizing the narrative. especially since the mass shootings in Atlanta.
you have zero credibility and clue on black-asian relations and history in the u.s. 36.9 years ago when i arrived in sf, there was already black against asian hatred and violence. the msm just didn’t report them as they were not news worthy plus asians hunkered down in fear and seldom called for police to report the vitriol and violence. the hatred is worse now even among wealthier and more powerful blacks as they feel empowered and emboldened by the current admin. the niggeress chief editor of teen vogue is asked to resign after her anti-asian remarks resurfaced recently and a niggeress sf school board member is recently called out for her anti-asian tweets. the hatred and resentment among blacks against asians has always remained after decades, more so when many asian kids do well in school and go on to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, tech millionaires. one more stupid uninformed retort from you, and i know you’re vacuous and full of bs.

Latest Proud Boys facing charges for Capitol riots have deep ties to police

Meaghan Ellis, AlterNet
March 20, 2021

Long before the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol, Charles Donohoe, leader of the Proud Boys' North Carolina chapter, was sharing posts via Telegram about the need to push back against Telegram.

"We need to stop fighting Antifa in the streets where the cops are and start fighting them in bars and alleys," Donohoe wrote back in 2019. "We need to stomp them. We need to ruin their lives physically like they have ruined ours financially with doxxing. We need to rack up their hospital bills. We need to use special operations tactics and lightning strike them."

According to The Daily Beast, his previous profile photo on the encrypted social network featured him shaking hands with a member of the D.C. Metropolitan Police, later identified as Collin Cole, a Black police officer who served in the Marines with Donohoe.

In a Facebook post around that time, Donohoe spoke of counterprotests scheduled to take place in Downtown D.C. He tagged Cole, who responded to the post by saying, "I'll be working downtown today for the protests."

Donohoe replied to the officer saying, "You'll see me me [sic] I'm with the proud boys. Don't publicly announce this please Antifa is trying to ruin our weekend." To which, Cole responded: "Of course not! I'll keep an eye out."

In the wake of Donohoe's recent arrest for his alleged participation in the Capitol riots, the New York Times did a bit of research to learn more about the Proud Boys leader. The publication reported that he and quite a few others have ties to law enforcement. When the Daily Beast reached out to Cole for comment, he claimed that he was not aware of Donohoe's arrest only saying, "Wow. Wow. Wow. I do not want to be associated with that."

He also claimed he had no knowledge of the far-right groups Donohoe spoke of when he'd tagged him to his previous posts. "I guess he was just warning me like, 'Be careful, Antifa's attacking,' but it wasn't anything past that," Cole said.

Further research also revealed Donohoe is not the only member of the Proud Boys with ties to law enforcement. The publication reports that Zach Rehl, identified as a Marine veteran who serves as the president of the Proud Boys' Philadelphia chapter, also has deep ties to law enforcement.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Rehl—described as one of the far-right organization's "most visible representatives on the East Coast"— has family ties to the police department. Last summer, Rehl was also seen "mingling with officers at the Philadelphia police union hall."

Previous reports also suggest Rehl has strong ties to the police department. Following a rally back in September, the Daily Beast noted that the "Philadelphia Proud Boys were accompanied back to their cars by a police caravan. A Philadelphia Police officer was filmed talking to and shaking hands with the group in what the city's district attorney described to The Daily Beast as an "extra-friendly" interaction."

The group's connections with law enforcement raise a number of questions about their ties. Currently, Philadelphia Police detective Jennifer Gugger is also at the center of an internal department investigation for her alleged attendance of former President Donald Trump's rally that preceded the deadly Capitol riots.

The latest reports come as Donohoe, Rhel, and a number of other Proud Boys members face charges for the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol. On Wednesday, March 17, Donohoe was arrested and charged with conspiracy for his alleged involvement in the U.S. Capitol riots.

In a Facebook post from April 2020, Cherokee County Sheriff's Capt. Jay Baker shared an image of T-shirts based off the Corona beer label that said "Covid 19 IMPORTED VIRUS FROM CHY-NA."

Baker did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but after BuzzFeed News asked about the shirt, the public Facebook post became unavailable.
At their press conference about the shootings on Wednesday, police said it was too early to determine if the suspect was motivated by race, but added that the suspect told officials he had sex addiction issues and targeted the businesses because he wanted to “take out that temptation.”
As director of communications and community relations at the sheriff's office, Baker was among the law enforcement speakers who gave an update on the investigation.
Speaking to reporters about the suspect's explanation for the shootings, which he allegedly admitted to, Baker said it was "a really bad day" for the shooter.
His comments and officials' decision to focus on the suspect's narrative amid a spate of increased hate incidents against Asian Americans have been widely criticized.

A report published Tuesday by the organization Stop AAPI Hate found nearly 3,800 reported hate incidents targeting Asian Americans in the past year, in part due to racist scapegoating over COVID-19. Throughout the pandemic, former president Donald Trump repeatedly called the disease the "China Virus" and "Kung Flu."
Of the incidents documented by the group, 68% involved verbal harassment, and 11% involved physical assault. The report also showed that women reported attacks at more than twice the rate of men.

Four alleged leaders of the Proud Boys have been indicted in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol over allegedly conspiring, including in discussions on encrypted messaging apps, to obstruct the certification of President Biden's Electoral College victory.
The indictment unsealed Friday charges the defendants — Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Zach Rehl and Charles Donohoe — with six counts, including obstruction of an official proceeding, obstruction of law enforcement, destruction of government property and conspiracy.
According to the indictment, Nordean is the president of his local Proud Boy chapter in Washington state; Biggs is a Proud Boy member and organizer in Florida; Rehl is the president of a local chapter of the group in Philadelphia; and Donohoe is the president of his local Proud Boy chapter in North Carolina. Nordean and Biggs had previously been charged by complaint.
The defendants are the latest with ties to the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group, to face conspiracy charges over their alleged roles in the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters.

This indictment, however, paints a more detailed picture of alleged discussions among members of the group in the runup to Jan. 6.
Two days before Congress met to certify the results, Washington, D.C., police arrested the Proud Boys chairman, Enrique Tarrio.
Prosecutors allege that after Tarrio's arrest, Donohoe expressed concern that encrypted communications that included Tarrio were now compromised and in the hands of police.
Donohoe then created a new channel, called "New MOSD," on an encrypted messaging app that included his co-defendants. Donohoe also, according to the indictment, "took steps to destroy or 'nuke' the earlier channel."

Donohoe posted a message that same day to the new channel in which he says: "Hey have been instructed an listen to me real good! There is no planning of any sorts. I need to be put into whatever new thing is created. Everything is compromised and we can be looking at Gang charges." He then added, "top everything immediately" and "this comes from the top."
Later that day, an individual identified in court documents only as an unindicted co-conspirator posted: "[W]e had originally planned on breaking the guys into teams. Let's start divvying them up and getting baofeng channels picked out," referring to channels on handheld radios.

The following day, the indictment says, a new encrypted messaging channel called "Boots on the Ground" was set up for Proud Boys in Washington. Some 60 people were in the channel, including the four defendants, prosecutors say.

That evening, Biggs posted a message to the channel that said he was trying to get a sense of their numbers so they can "go over tomorrow's plan."
Rehl told the channel he was on his way to Washington and was bringing radios with him. He added that there was a person who would program the devices later that evening.
The unindicted co-conspirator allegedly posted a message telling the group not to wear the group's traditional black and yellow colors and to use good judgment "until further orders."
"Rufio is in charge, cops are the primary threat, don't get caught by them or BLM, don't get drunk until off the street," the unindicted co-conspirator wrote, according to court documents. (Nordean is also known as Rufio Panman.)
That same evening, Biggs allegedly posted a message that read: "We have a plan. I'm with Rufio."

U.S. charges Proud Boys with conspiracy in Capitol assault that turned deadly
By Sarah N. Lynch
4 MIN READ

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal grand jury charged four leaders of the far-right Proud Boys with conspiring to block Congress from certifying U.S. President Joe Biden’s election on the day of a deadly assault on the Capitol, according to court papers unsealed on Friday.

FILE PHOTO: Members of the far-right group Proud Boys make 'OK' hand gestures indicating "white power" as supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump gather in front of the U.S. Capitol Building to protest against the certification of the 2020 U.S. presidential election results by the U.S. Congress, in Washington, U.S., January 6, 2021. REUTERS/Jim Urquhart
The indictment alleges that Ethan Nordean of Washington, Joseph Biggs of Florida, Zachary Rehl of Pennsylvania and Charles Donohoe of North Carolina conspired to encourage members of the group to attend the Stop the Steal protest in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6.
All four defendants in the superseding indictment released on Friday are the leaders or organizers of Proud Boys chapters in their respective states, the indictment says.
It says they worked to obtain paramilitary equipment used for the attack on the U.S. Capitol, dismantled metal barriers set up to protect the building, and communicated using handheld radios and encrypted messaging applications.
It also says the effort included soliciting donations through an online crowdfunding campaign to help the Proud Boys pay for protective gear, and an online fundraiser that generated more than $5,500 to help cover travel expenses to Washington.
More than 300 people have been charged in connection with the attack which left five people dead after a mob of then-President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the building in a failed bid to stop Congress from certifying Biden’s victory.

Approximately 20 people charged to date are associated with the Proud Boys, and some of the others have been tied to anti-government militias such as the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters.
The indictment also alleges they made their intentions clear as far back as November, with Biggs declaring in a social media post on Nov. 5, threatening war if the election was stolen from Trump, who lost the vote.
Later that month, on Nov. 27, Nordean declared: “We tried playing nice and by the rules, now you will deal with the monster you created.”
On Jan. 5, 2021, a new encrypted messaging channel called “Boots on the Ground” was created, and more than 60 users participated, including the four defendants and a fifth unindicted co-conspirator, the indictment says.
It says that later that day, the unnamed co-conspirator sent a message telling everyone that Nordean, who also goes by the name Rufio Panman, would be a leader in the effort.

“Rufio is in charge, cops are the primary threat, don’t get caught by them or BLM...” the unnamed person is quoted as saying. BLM stands for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The next day, the indictment alleges, they advanced towards the Capitol, knocked down metal barricades and eventually made their way into the Capitol.
Nordean and Biggs had previously been arrested on criminal complaints.
Earlier this month, however, the Justice Department lost its bid to keep Nordean detained pending trial, after a federal judge said the government had failed to substantiate allegations that Nordean was a ringleader of the attack.
Biggs was arrested back in January and released on a $25,000 bond.

It doesn't matter how successful you are as an Asian American, chances are you've been stereotyped and harassed. Here are the powerful and painful stories that so many, as a collective, experience.

When the boyfriend arrived, they ended up chasing the suspect to the end of the parking lot across from the SAP Center where they were able to subdue him long enough for San Jose police to arrive.

While he says he never hesitated to help, he worries what would have happened if he and the boyfriend hadn't been there.

"Easily that man could have slipped out and our citizens would be unsafe with this guy still at large," he said, critical of the apparent lack of security on site.

The man taken into custody has been identified as Johan Strydom a 32-year-old San Francisco resident.

He was charged with intent to commit rape and assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury. The DA's Office also added hate crime enhancements to the charges, claiming he had yelled "(Expletive deleted) you, Asians" to the victim as he allegedly grabbed her by her neck and threw her to the ground.

After another attack on an Asian American in San Francisco, the East Bay victim, who was on a lunch break at work in the Financial District, is speaking out. He says the violence needs to stop and he no longer feels safe going to San Francisco.

"Here in San Francisco we have seen a rise in hate crime against our elderly Asian community. I want to make it clear that we won't tolerate it," warned San Francisco Mayor, London Breed.

She said other major cities have seen an increase in Asian American-directed hate crimes. Early this morning Breed phoned the Mayor of Atlanta to express her condolences for the murder of eight people, mostly Asians, although investigators believe that crime was not racially motivated.

Regardless, San Francisco police have increased the number of patrols in predominately Asian neighborhoods.
