Wish you and your team a Happy National Day.

We are are aware of the challenges that you are facing since coming into office. It is never easy when you have no idea what is happening on the ground. It is never easy when you are lost and can't seem to find the answers. It is even worse when your team have similar issues. It even more worrying when your team has to ask the country for answers. We were surprised and yet should not be surprised when you apologised just before the polls closed during last year's general elections.

We do acknowledge that luck has not been with you. There is no Goh Keng Swee to build the right economic model for our time. There is no Rajaratnam to bring the various communities together. There is no equivalent to the Mandarins of yesteryears such as Hocstadt, Pillay or Bogaars.

For a start the nation prays and hopes that you do not disappear everytime the shit hits the fan. You did it with Mas Selamat and the latest was over the MRT debacle. Leadership means standing front and centre in good times and in bad times. We do have to thank god that you are no longer with the SAF. Not good when a general cannot be found during a battle.

Lastly the question about your wife lingers on. 24% drop in a major bank within her stable. I am sure the Changi Naval Base, the submarine pens etc will be part of the process when dealing with the New York regulators on the issued showcause notice. Lets play by the rules. If something leaves the public sector and goes into the private sector, it means that it has to operate like any other vessel in the open seas. If the vessel or its master is not fit for purpose, lets not hide behind the country everytime a crisis unfolds. We did with it SMRT, we did it with SBS in the last 2 years. It is disgraceful.
