SAF/ SAFRA should avoid/ STOP promoting gambling in Singapore.

I recently 'inspected' a jackpot gambling facility @ a SAFRA sports + recreational centre and am dismayed to find that ample tid bits, food and drinks were provided FREE OF CHARGE whilst tid bits and drinks @ a vending machine inside/ outside the gym/ sports hall were as charged despite their honourable and voluntary contributions to Singapore's war against diabetes.

I would like to propose that parliament legislate a law to state that at ALL GAMBLING RELATED AREAS (I.e. areas where everyone without exclusion orders against gambling are allowed to visit) be BANNED from providing free food or enticements to encourage further gambling.

Safra does not provide FOC food for health conscious individuals using the badminton courts, gym or the swimming pool, there is thus no reason why SAFRA should provide free food and drinks to those who indulge in lesser pursuits inside the jackpot room.

PS: if food and drinks is to be provided, then it should be chargeable at the same price or higher than similar food available within the same location or compound.

Gambling is very evil see sop many lives are destroyed. I agree should stop promoting this bad habit.

I would suggest that all the casinos should be demolish and ban. Only allowing legal on-line gambling by SG pools.

Enforce law like people with 4k or below salary are not allow to gamble or coming out a gambling limit system where individual all will have a limit of their gambling amount monthly, like 10k or something.

This habit of gambling in Singapore begins at home (for most Chinese families). What activity is there for blokes during Chinese New Year? The kids are all encouraged to play Black Jack or some other card game using their Ang Pow money. With the approval and encouragement of their parents and adult relatives, they develop a desire to "win" and progress into other forms of gambling and betting. It soon spreads to school with their school mates and it grow from there. I don't know which other culture allows gambling among children. I look around at our culture and am sickened by it. I wish the authorities would start looking at this problem at its root and start to discourage it. I myself do not encourage my kid to play card games, but the larger percentage of my relatives do. They even arrange for someone to be a dealer for the kids!!! Why can't they just let the kids fire crackers during CNY? Its a more authentic activity for CNY!
