Gerald Yong, 25, is married and a father of one. He is a final year undergraduate with The London School of Economics and Political Science, studying for a Bachelor of Science in Banking & Finance. He is currently employed full-time as a Financial Planning Executive, at a leading firm of insurers in Singapore.

This bloke is an undergraduate with LSE, but he is employed full-time in Singapore ?

He is better than David Copperfield....and Sayat Baba!

Financial planning executive means insurance agent. Working while undergrad means external course.

Of course I know it's an external degree course with the UOL. But does that entitle him to say he is an undergraduate with LSE ? And omitting any mention of external degree course altogether ?

I don't think so. I think he should be more straightforth. There's nothing wrong with external course as long as he do his part, learn his stuff and get his grade. The mention of LSE also sounds suspicious. I understand a number of colleges offer external degrees under UOL umbrella but not LSE. Perhaps if I'm outdated on this, I shall stand corrected.

Prestige and career progression

The programme has been developed by academics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), regarded as an international centre of academic excellence and innovation in the social sciences. This degree will prepare you for a career in areas of accountancy, consulting, commercial or investment banking, trading and sales or risk management.

The test is on the Degree Certificate itself. Any mention of LSE in the Certificate ? Anyone who did BSc with UOL care to shed some light ?
