July 21, 2016: Racial Harmony Day
Racial Harmony Day falls on July 21 every year in Singapore to commemorate the 1964 Race Riots, (which took place on July 21, 1964 and also known as the communal riots of 1964) to remind Singaporeans about the importance of maintaining racial and religious harmony in the country.
Racial Harmony Day started in 1997 as part of the national curriculum in public school in Singapore.
