Even Planet Earth's great scientists such as the genius of his scientific field - the late Stephen Hawkings, believed that we are not alone, & just by mathematical calculations, there are PROBABLY other forms of civilizations in the Universe, which even mainstream religion such as Christianity & Islam acknowledges. However, to achieve INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL, such beings would have to be at least TYPE 2 Civilization - far higher than the self serving Humans let alone NATION/SOCIETY common on our planet. as per the renown scientist Michio Kaku. Such civilizations are beyond greed, corruption, etc, & their purpose is to only expand knowledge of the greater Universe they live & survive in, having SUFFERED much & rose beyond such mortal trappings into such.

While there had been many physical manifestations of supposed 'extraterrestrial beings' having visited our planet, there is no DEFINATIVE proof that they had done so. Thus, bordering upon extrapolated science for an answer to your concerns,:-

Should they visit us, it will mostly be in probe forms - drones. As our own civilization had advanced physically & mentally, should such probes be destroyed by us, it is only a warning to them that such visitations are NOT invited. Better they show themselves, show their intentions & be the guest to our homeworld, instead of spying on us, as their form of civilization would dictate benevolence & intelligence for their ability for costly interstellar travel.

Furthermore, the closest habitable planets are at least 11 light years away - which means at least 22 yrs of research to finally reach those beings, & will be more, even thousands of lights years away for other civilizations. At the rate of our advances in science & tech, we may already had achieved the status they have as a type 2 civilization & will meet as EQUALS.

However, currently Humanity had not reached Type 2 Civilization status yet, & thus the strife & chaos in our selfish World, with MORE to be done to achieve it. The Human Earth born spying will only naturally continue, more so with drones. Such drones have to be lightweight to stay in the air longer, would carry little fuel or battery cells & may not even be armed to pose a threat. Thus rather than to shoot them down, it will be better to capture them for study, regardless if they are terrestrial or extraterrestrial, to further our knowledge & evolution.

Gen Glen VanHerck - US Air Force commander overseeing N.America airspace, was at a closed briefing held at Capitol on Feb 9, 2023 to explain to Congressional Committees on the series of unidentified objects being shot down recently.

Briefly, in his words " Asked whether he had ruled out an extraterrestrial origin for three airborne objects shot down by US warplanes in as many days, General Glen VanHerck said: "I'll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out. I haven't ruled out anything."

He also replied that the military were unable to IMMEDIATELY determine the means by which any of the 3 latest objects were kept aloft or where they were coming from. "We're calling them objects, not balloons, for a reason," said VanHerck.

Many alien theorists would seize upon the last statement as evidence of Extraterrestrial origins, as there are no propulsion known in current science that could keep a heavy object afloat at mere 6000ft above Earth's gravitational pull over extended periods without a balloon, unlike satellites in weightless outer space with compressed air used as thrusts to keep such afloat.

However, it must NOT be discounted that such crafts could be equally MAN-MADE. There must be NO MISCONCEPTION that only govts are able to fund Research & Development in Science & Technology. Private individuals with great wealth CAN also do such.

The greatest suspects would be mercenary groups & arms suppliers/smugglers. They are the richest & their line of work is in supplying means to enhance war efforts of their clients. In such line, in order to ensure their wealth continues by meeting demands, they too have the ABILITY to form R&D units made up of professors & talents, & pay them FAR more than govts with budgets to balance for, to create technologies that govt employees are not even aware of.

Human born intelligence is NOT limited only to govt employees. Such comes from everywhere, more so those whom have deep pockets to fund R&D. Ian Fleming was a WW2 veteran & a great thinker & prolific author who tried to WARN Humanity of such creatures, thru his James Bond novels where the villains are often the rich & powerful with delusions of grandeur, to rule the World.

The insignificant nobody me would rather deal with those creatures whom are rich & indulges themselves and their families, corrupt & bribe the justice system to save their skins, than to deal with those whom have higher ambitions, whom will destroy democratic institutions painfully built up to save & elevate Humanity. They made much sacrifices to become rich, & in their experiences, they would have to lose a part of Humanity to become the authoritarian that they are, foolishly assuming themselves perfect, & would only destroy our World, as PrezPutin of RUS is doing now.

Many were disgusted with PrezXi of China for his treatment of the rich & wealthy citizens such as Jack Ma. But sadly, China with a recorded history of 5000 yrs, knew full well of what the rich can do & had done to its numerous dynasties, & the cruel treatment of landlords to its citizens which gave rise to Communism that destroyed those landlords.

Without impinging upon the rights of the rich & wealthy, perhaps Humanity should keep a close watch upon the rich & wealthy, regardless if their source of wealth is legitimate or illegitimate, & ensure that whatever they do, they do NOT attempt to have delusions of grandeur.

World leaders sit upon the international table of diplomacy & are held ACCOUNTABLE for their actions & face consequences. However, the ambitious rich HIDE behind shadows to perform their dastardly dreams, ambitions & desires, do not & are never held accountable..

The path of supposedly good intentions...only leads to Hell, when there is NO accountability, no matter how 'justified' a self mortal individual determined cause can be...
