This is exactly what the PAP wants brainwashed Singaporeans like you to believe. That the route to democracy and a people's voice is through elections.
Singaporeans like me? Are you are not one? What have you done, that is, if you are indeed a Singaporean? If you have not done anything, then as a Singaporean aren't you also one of those brainwashed Singaporeans?
The serious opponents like JBJ, Francis Seow, Tan LH, Chee SJ are all kicked out of parliament or kept at exile. What you have in parliament today is the toilet trained opposition like LTK. Is it any wonder that the WP members including LTK keeps reminding you that it will take them some 20 years of not more to form the next govt.
Let me ask you; you have 2 elected oppositions in parliament and what have they done? Allowing a constituency to rot and have that rustic look and feel does not require a lot of effort on one's part. You don't even need an MP for that.
You feel that the current opposition members in parliament are not up to the mark then don't you think you need to do something about this is in the next elections, like standing as a candidate? Or are you going to make excuses about stuffed ballot boxes?
Don't ask me. Ask the residents in the the opposition held ward to see if they agree with you that their constituencies are rotting. I doubt that they will agree with you. They are just not people who are easily bought with all the upgrading baits thrown at them in as many elections since the opposition MPs took over. Since you seem to criticise their constituencies I take it that you are in a ward that succumbed to the temptations dangled by the PAP. If you did, what are you complaining about? You gave them the mandate to rule over you.
You need to read your history once again. NOt the PAP approved textbook mind you. LKY colluded and collobrated with the communists as they had the popular base while he was double dealing with the British. That was in essense the short of how he duped the older generation and came into absolute power. The older generation were just as dumb as the present crop.
Were you around when the events were taking place? I doubt so, since you have to keep on referring to written text for your history lesson and I would never call our parents dumb, unlike you.
Shown the way. Really? What way have they shown? LTK has already said that he believes in a Asian democracy; whatever the fuck that means. Is there another kind? Even if you vote the WP into power, not that it will happen as the powers that be (PAP) will simply stuff ballot boxes; you are simply at the mercy from one master to another.
Get real. It does not matter whether you do or do not agree with the elected opposition? It matters to those people they represent, not you. They have chosen their representative in the elections and is non-PAP. Have you exercised your right, again, that is if you are a Singaporean. I take it that if you are faced with an opposition candidate standing in your constituency, you would sell your soul to vote PAP even after all this talk won't you? And after that come here to complain about the PAP.
