１９８６年８月３０日，王仕花登上开山岛，搜寻她“失踪”的丈夫，可只找着一个胡子拉碴、满身臭气的“野人”。

王仕花气急：“别人都不守，我们也不守！”

“野人”说：“要走你走，我决定留下！”

王仕花走了，“野人”的心滴血了。

可不到一个月，王仕花带着包裹，又上岛了。

从此刻开始，他守着岛，她守着他，直到他生命的最后一息。

开山岛上的“王开山”，这是人们对守岛人王继才的亲切称呼。

32年，一口水窖、三只小狗、四座航标灯、数十棵被吹歪的苦楝树、２００多面升过的旧国旗，勾勒、构成王继才的守岛岁月。

坚守——直到守不动为止，他为一座岛作出承诺



呜咽的风，鬼魅的风！——一到夜晚，狂风袭岛，劈头盖脸，往屋子里钻，无孔不入。

王继才上岛前，来过４批１０多个民兵守岛，最长的只待了１３天。他们全都被这狂风吓跑了。

“我用铁床堵住门，蜷在角落里，抽烟喝酒壮胆。”

１９８６年７月１４日，上岛第一天。怒吼的风把王继才逼到营房一角，整宿失眠。

第二天，看到船，但任他呼喊，船就是不靠岸。

一连４７天，叫天不应，叫地不灵，犹如炼狱。带来的３０瓶白酒喝光了，王继才也醉了，倒在哪里就睡在哪里。

开山岛离陆地有１２海里，是祖国的海上东大门。小岛只有两个足球场大，战时是兵家必争的黄海前哨、战略要冲，必须得有人值守。

“我们下岛吧！”

上岛第４８天，妻子王仕花对丈夫说。

王继才是瞒着妻子上岛的。得到消息，王仕花追到岛上却惊呆了——眼前的丈夫熬的是缺水少米的“原始”生活！

当时，江苏灌云县人武部领导语重心长地对王继才说：“这岛，只有你能守住，不要当逃兵！”

王继才望一眼这孤岛，乱石蒸腾出的热浪弥漫在海天之间，连过路的海鸟都不愿在这里落脚。

王继才沉默着，但他明白无论是军令还是承诺，都不容违背。

沉默着，他把妻子送上了船。

等船走远了，他坐在岸边突然放声大哭。

王仕花也在挣扎。她左思右想，一狠心辞掉教师工作，把两岁的女儿托付给婆婆，背着铺盖卷，也上岛去了。

１９８７年７月，王仕花即将临产，却无法下岛——一阵风，就能锁住一座岛。

９日这天，王仕花要生了，豆大的汗珠从额头滚落，把王继才急得团团转。

“王继才，我坑你手里了！”

情急之下，王继才抓起步话机联系镇武装部长，在部长妻子的指导下，自己动手接生！

伴着孩子的第一声啼哭，王继才找来一把剪刀，颤抖着剪断了脐带。孩子呱呱坠地，连个裹布都没有，王继才撕开身上的背心在开水里一煮，裹在了孩子身上……

这个孩子叫志国。

１９９５年春节前后，台风连续刮了１７天，粮没了，炊断了，全家人吃生牡蛎充饥。８岁的小志国撒的尿都是乳白色的，哭闹着要吃米饭，被父亲狠心揍了一顿。

王仕花心里的苦说不出，只得擦一把眼泪，一手搂住小志国，默默抓了牡蛎放到自己嘴里嚼，等腥臭味嚼没了，再喂到孩子嘴里。

到了第九个年头，家里更困难了：父母年迈、孩子上学、经济拮据，王继才盘算着：上岸多挣点钱，照顾家人。他想找老政委王长杰说明情况，可一找却找到了医院里——老政委身患绝症住院。

请辞的话还没出口，老政委拉起他的手：“继才，开山岛由你来守，我就是走了，也放心了。”

王继才心头一热，肚子里的话来回转了几圈，又咽了回去。

他敬了个军礼：“您放心，无论遇到什么困难，我一定把岛守好，直到守不动为止！”

坚守何其艰难！

岂止是风浪的可怕。缺补给，王继才夫妇过了１０多年半饥半饱的日子；没有电，他们点了２０多年煤油灯；没淡水，他们喝了３０多年雨水。

雨水里有寄生虫怎么办？他们往水窖里放了一群泥鳅吃虫子。

泥鳅吃完又吐出去的水，就是两个人的命。

在岛下，三个得不到父母照顾的孩子相依为命。有一次，大火差点把三个孩子烧死。孩子们一气之下让人给岛上送了一张纸条：“再不回来，就看不见我们了！”

字条上这些字，像是有人用刀剜在夫妇俩心上。王仕花见了字条，急急赶回来，把孩子们安顿好就要赶回去。三个孩子一把抱住妈妈的腿，哭着就是不让走。

大女儿王苏抹着眼泪赌气说：“像你们这样不负责任的父母，就不该要孩子，两个人在岛上过一辈子得了！”

曾经有很长一段时间，王志国不理解父亲。

后来他才知道，不得已的父母也有一片苦心：“独自生活，就是要让他们接触生活的压力，磨练他们，让他们成长。我们守岛虽然辛苦，也是为了要用行动告诉子女：做人要重诺守信、要诚实正直！自己承诺的事情，就不能言而无信！”

２００３年１０月１０日，灌云县人武部为王继才一个人举行了入党宣誓仪式。面对党旗，举起右拳，他庄严宣誓：“对党忠诚，积极工作……随时准备为党和人民牺牲一切……”

在王继才的心里，守岛，已经从“有期限的任务”变成了“终生的使命”。４３岁的王继才再次承诺：“守岛就是守国，遇到天大的困难，也一定要把岛守好！”

３２年，灌云县人武部的部长换了９个，政委换了７个；当年从岛上撤下的军人和民兵们，在各行各业收获各自的人生精彩，而王继才夫妇却始终像钉子一样钉在同一个地方，相当于连续度过了１６个义务兵役期。

随着年龄的增大，他们越来越觉得自己离不开这座岛。后来，小岛上多了气象仪、水文仪这些监测设备，还需要做日常维护、紧急抢修。王继才意识到，开山岛也离不开他们了。

为了守岛，王继才错过了女儿的婚礼，错过了外孙的出生，错过了与老父亲的最后一面……在大女儿王苏印象中，父亲最常说的一句话：“岛是国家的，我走了，岛怎么办？”

On August 30, 1986, Wang Shihua boarded the mountain on the island of Kaishan and searched for her "missing" husband. He could only find a "wild man" who was unshaven and stinking.
Wang Shi is anxious: "Others are not guarding, we are not keeping!"
"The Savage" said: "I want to leave, I decided to stay!"
Wang Shihua left, and the heart of the "wild man" was bleeding.
In less than a month, Wang Shihua took the parcel and went to the island again.
From this moment on, he guarded the island, and she kept him until the last breath of his life.
"Wang Kaishan" on Kaishan Island, this is the kind address of people who are responsible for the islander Wang Jicai.
In 32 years, a otter, three puppies, four beacon lights, dozens of boasted buckwheat trees, and more than 200 old flags that have been raised have outlined the years of the island.

Hold on - until he can't keep moving, he promises for an island
The choked wind, the ghostly wind! - At night, the wind hit the island, smashing his face, drilling into the house, and being inaccessible.
Before Wang Jicai went to the island, he had come to four batches of more than 10 militiamen to defend the island. The longest stay was only 13 days. They were all scared away by this wind.
"I blocked the door with an iron bed and squatted in the corner, smoking and drinking."
On July 14, 1986, the first day of the island. The roaring wind forced Wang Jicai to the corner of the barracks and insomnia.
The next day, I saw the boat, but let him shout, the boat is not on the beach.
For 47 days in a row, it is called refusal, and it is like a purgatory. The 30 bottles of white wine brought up, Wang Jicai was drunk, and wherever he fell, he slept.
Kaishan Island is 12 nautical miles from the land and is the sea east gate of the motherland. There are only two football fields in the island. In the wartime, the Yellow Sea outposts and strategic priorities must be honoured by the military.
"Let's go down the island!"
On the 48th day of the island, his wife Wang Shihua said to her husband.
Wang Jicai took his wife to the island. When I got the news, Wang Shihua was shocked to catch up with the island. The husband in front of her eyes is the "primitive" life of lack of water and less rice!
At that time, the leader of the People’s Armed Forces Department of Guanyun County, Jiangsu Province, said to Wang Jicai: "On this island, only you can hold it, don't be a deserter!"
Wang Jicai looked at the isolated island. The heat waves raging from the rocks filled the sea and the sky, and even the seabirds crossing the road were not willing to settle here.
Wang Jicai is silent, but he understands that no matter whether it is a military order or a promise, it cannot be violated.
Silent, he sent his wife to the boat.
When the ship went far, he sat on the shore and burst into tears.
Wang Shihua is also struggling. She thought about it and quit her teacher's job. She entrusted her two-year-old daughter to her mother-in-law, carrying a roll of cover, and went to the island.
In July 1987, Wang Shihua was about to go to work, but could not get off the island - a gust of wind could lock an island.
On the 9th, Wang Shihua was born, and the sweat of the bean was rolled off his forehead, and Wang Jicai was anxious to turn around.
"Wang Jicai, I am in your hands!"

This child is called Zhiguo.
Before and after the Spring Festival in 1995, the typhoon was continuously scraped for 17 days. The grain was gone, and the whole family was eating raw oysters to satisfy the hunger. The 8-year-old Xiao Zhiguo’s urine was milky white, crying to eat rice, and was beaten by his father.
Wang Shihua’s heart couldn’t say it. He had to wipe a tear and hold Xiaozhi’s hand in one hand. He silently grabbed the oyster and put it in his mouth to chew it, and then he chewed it and then fed it into the child’s mouth.
In the ninth year, the family is even more difficult: parents are old, children are going to school, and the financial situation is tight. Wang Jicai is calculating: earn more money and take care of his family. He wanted to find the old political commissar Wang Changjie to explain the situation, but he found it in the hospital. The old political commissar was hospitalized in a terminal illness.

How hard it is!
It’s just a terrible storm. The lack of supplies, Wang Jicai couples have lived for more than 10 years and half full of hunger and hunger; without electricity, they ordered more than 20 years of kerosene lamps; without fresh water, they drank more than 30 years of rain.
What about parasites in the rain? They put a group of loach in the otter to eat worms.
The water that the loach eats and spits out is the life of two people.
Under the island, three children who are not cared for by their parents are living together. Once, the fire almost burned three children. The children gave the island a note: "If you don't come back, you can't see us!"
These words on the note, like someone with a knife in the heart of the couple. Wang Shihua saw the note and rushed back. When the children settled down, they would have to go back. The three children clasped their mother's legs and cried and refused to let go.
The eldest daughter Wang Su sighed with tears and said: "If you are irresponsible parents like you, you should not have children. Two people have lived on the island for a lifetime!"
For a long time, Wang Zhiguo did not understand his father.
Later, he realized that the parents who had no choice had a bitter heart: "To live alone is to let them touch the pressure of life, hone them and let them grow. Although we are hard at the island, we also want to use our actions to tell our children: to be heavy Confidence in trust, be honest and upright! You can't say what you promised!"
On October 10, 2003, the People’s Armed Forces of Guanyun County held a swearing-in ceremony for Wang Jicai. Facing the party flag and raising his right fist, he solemnly vowed: "To be loyal to the party, to work actively... ready to sacrifice everything for the party and the people..."
In Wang Jicai’s heart, the island has changed from a “limited task” to a “lifelong mission”. The 43-year-old Wang Jicai once again promised: "Shoudao is to keep the country. When encountering the difficulties of the big, you must also keep the island!"

As they get older, they increasingly feel that they cannot do without the island. Wang Jicai realized that Kaishan Island could not do without them.
