Regulators Refusing to Act - Hyflux & Noble Group's Decline

how come the thread not sticky anymore

Hi, I discussed with one of our moderators. I think that we had imposed on this forum for a long time. Some member advocated doing harm to the regulators, I completely empathize the anger but sammyboy helped us a lot, I asked him to remove the threat so that we will not cause our forum to be blacklisted.

Hyflux destroyed 50000 Singapore investors.
China's Evergrande ruined 70000 China investors. At least the Chinese made themselves heard worldwide

Protests intensify at China Evergrande Group offices across the country as the developer falls further behind on promises to more than 70,000 investors.

The Chinese got balls.

Evergrande's protests worked, Beijing has intervened and help with their local bonds.
Beijing may have just found a brilliant solution to the Evergrande problem, effectively rescuing the company and averting a systemic crisis all at the same time:
  • it will pay local bondholders and soft nationalize/bailout Evergrande,
  • but will avoid allegations of backsliding on tightening/deleveraging promises and improving "common prosperity" by stuffing foreign creditor

The question is - will Beijing use this as a strawman to judge the impact of such a restructuring strategy? And what will be the impact on the foreign dollar bond market after this?

Ho Ching lost so much money overseas and until her last day in Temasek, also refused to save Hyflux mum-and-pop investors.

A notesholder once mentioned that regulators were after New Creation Church for breach of trust too, but Ministry of Law deem them to be untouchable like Hyflux's management.

Lost everything. Lost so many years of savings. All because of this scam and yet the government refused to bail us out.
Kill everyone of them, kill every pap dogs. Let them suffer like us.

Noble Group sees daylight

Under its restructuring plan, a group of holders of company bonds due in 2023, worth US$661 million in principal and interest, will exchange the tranche with new notes worth US$350 million and will also get at least a 97.5 per cent stake in a new holding company.

The plan also requires holders of bonds worth US$344 million and due in 2025 to exchange their notes for up to 2.5 per cent of the shares of the new holding company, with the right to acquire more, a company statement said.
