Another very average performance against Swansea who were very unlucky not to win it.

I'm still not yet convinced on the true calibre of Rashford. He could either turn out to be another Rooney...or another Adnan Januzaj
But if he keeps on diving like a submarine to win penalties, it's most likely to be the latter. Should have been red carded for that.

It's rather premature to measure Rashford's calibre but I'd stick with my earlier assessment of him-all pace but poor technique. So at best, he'll be an average striker. He's a really good student of Young and it was well scripted. Pathetic dive and no more than a yellow card. I dun think Fergie would have approved of it.

I sensed that the Old Trafford crowd were getting restless for the past few matches. If Mou and company don't get their act together, it is only a matter of time before you hear chants of 'No Mour Please' and Mou should shoulder the bulk of the blame.

REVEALED: Chelsea target Bakayoko turned off Man Utd by Mourinho antics

AS Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko is keen on the prospect of joining Manchester United, but has concerns about manager Jose Mourinho, it has been revealed.

Bakayoko is a major target this summer for United, Chelsea and PSG - with Monaco prepared to sell.

Nice-Matin says the Ivorian is happy with the interest of United and excited by the prospect of playing in the same midfield as Paul Pogba.

However, he is nervous about working for Mourinho and the way he has managed United's players this season.

Bakayoko, particularly, has been alarmed over stories he's heard about the treatment dished out to former ASM teammate Anthony Martial this season.

As such, the midfielder favours joining Chelsea ahead of United should he choose to move to England this summer.

The Europa League is the only major trophy missing from Manchester United's trophy cabinet and they have moved smoothly into the last four under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
Standing between them and a place in the final in Stockholm on 24 May are Spanish opposition - but not perhaps who you would expect.

Sevilla have won the last three Europa Leagues, but played no part this season after reaching the last 16 of the Champions League.
Spanish sides have won the Europa League - and predecessor Uefa Cup - on 10 occasions, but United's opponents Celta Vigo have never before reached the last four.
Vigo have knocked out Aston Villa and Liverpool in the past - will they conquer United next?

Who are Celta Vigo?
Based in the small city of Vigo (population 200,000) in the wet and windy region of Galicia in the north-west of Spain, close to the Portuguese border, Celta are by no means one of the traditional powerhouses of Spanish football.
The club spent much of its existence bouncing between Spain's top two divisions before an outbreak of success in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when players such as Alexander Mostovoi, Valery Karpin and future Chelsea star Claude Makelele inspired a strong few seasons including a fourth-placed finish in La Liga in 2003.

But Celta then suffered dire financial problems, coming very close to entering administration, and spent five years in the Segunda Division before returning to the top flight in 2012.

They have never won a major trophy but have been getting closer in recent years, reaching the Copa del Rey semi-final in each of the last two seasons and now also progressing to their first ever European semi-final.
The meeting with United has understandably sparked great excitement among fans, with all tickets for the home leg selling out last week.

But the tie comes against the dark backdrop of a row with the local council over the ownership of their Balaidos stadium, with club president Carlos Mourino threatening to move to another town.

Controversial but highly rated manager
Celta manager Eduardo Berizzo might not find the red carpet rolled out by United's recently unveiled partners, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender charity Stonewall, after he once made headlines with homophobic comments about his time as a player in France at Marseille.

In purely footballing terms, though, Berizzo has done an excellent job at Celta since taking over from Barcelona-bound Luis Enrique in the summer of 2014, leading the team to eighth- and sixth-place finishes and instilling an open, entertaining style of play.
His team sit 11th in La Liga with a 4-3 home win over Barcelona back in October one of the highlights of the season.
The 47-year-old Argentine spent the latter stages of his playing days with Celta, and later started his managerial career as coaching guru Marcelo Bielsa's assistant with the Chilean national team before going solo to win a Chilean league title with O'Higgins in 2013.

He generally employs a 4-2-3-1 formation and - like all Bielsa protegees - prefers a fast-paced game with emphasis upon retaining possession (this season Celta rank sixth in La Liga with an average of 52.2% possession per game), and pressing the opposition high up the pitch.

Berizzo's achievements with Celta have seen him linked with bigger clubs, and the fact he is out of contract in the summer has sparked rumours of a possible move to Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla or Valencia, who are all likely to have vacancies at the end of the season.

Manchester United have been boosted by the return of several injured players on the eve of their Europa League semi-final first leg at Celta Vigo.


Defender Eric Bailly trained on Wednesday despite limping out of Sunday's draw with Swansea City.


Chris Smalling and Phil Jones took part having missed nine games with a knee injury and broken toe respectively.


Midfielder Paul Pogba returns from muscle fatigue, while Juan Mata could start after undergoing groin surgery.


Manager Jose Mourinho faced the prospect of fielding midfielder Michael Carrick or 19-year-old Axel Tuanzebe in central defence at Celta's Estadio de Balaidos, but either Jones or Smalling will now likely feature alongside Bailly.


However, Mourinho has confirmed left-back Luke Shaw will not play again this season due to a foot ligament injury.


United are bidding to win the Europa League for the first time and guarantee a place in next season's Champions League in the process.


"I know that it is the only competition that Manchester United as a club have never won and it would be great to close the circle and say, 'We are a club that won every single competition in the football world'," said Mourinho.


"It depends on the way we analyse the situation tomorrow after the match, but if we have to rest players next weekend, we are going to do that."

This will be their first meeting with Celta, who sit 11th in La Liga and have lost their last three matches.


Mourinho's side, by contrast, are unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions.


"It's a difficult game for us," said Mourinho.


"Because of their situation in La Liga, a comfortable situation, they managed to think just about the Europa League, to rest players, to be in the maximum condition."


Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo said his side need to be "faithful to who they are" if they are to overcome United across the two legs.


"My team has a strong identity and the players believe in it," said the former Argentina defender.


"The identity is about a lot of possession, a lot of pressure and a desire to win the ball back quickly when we lose it."


The second leg is on 11 May at Old Trafford. The winners meet Ajax or Lyon at the Friends Arena in Stockholm on Wednesday, 24 May.

Hernandez is the fox in the box type of striker and he's good only if the midfielders can provide some decent service... I dun know why they sold him in the first place.

Building the core of a team takes time. Players must bring different sets of skills to compliment each other. Above all the leadership they provide in those core areas will be the integral part or the backbone if you like of the team. Lyon,Bayern, Barca, Milan and Juve have done it so did United when SAF settled for a British core. REAL is at the extreme end of the scale with the Galacticos approach but with tv money and a massive local and latina market, they can afford. The problem is it hasn't yield consistent results over the years.

If United move in this direction, it will prove to be a painful and costly one. If there is an 'ideal' one, it would be somewhere in between. Players from the academy(both local and foreign) and exceptional talents should be the way forward.

I could see Herrera and Pogba forming the midfield core. With Bailly and hopefully another centerback or two and a good keeper, it would complete the back core. We're still in the transition or rebuilding mode and it will take time before we see a solid team.

With good management and financial prudence, it would make for a more sustainable team building. That bloody old fart did it over 25 years - building and rebuilding. Methinks Mou can do it if he weans himself from expensive 'caviar'.

Griezman will be a United player next season. What a farking expensive player he is!!!!

They've rested their players for this game. Shows you all is not so bad at Man United and the level of performance tonight was excellent. On their day they can beat anyone.
Pity about the injury list.
