Lloyd's Inn has been through some major renovations and is pretty upmarket now. But the location still feels like a "short-time" outlet.Lloyd's Inn

Your recommendation is pretty classy:YMCA at Stevens Road....
I used to park my car "free" at York Hotel which is outside CBD, then cut across Mt Elizabeth into the heart of Orchard Road. Another hotel that offered the same "loophole" was the ex Cockpit Hotel.York or holiday inn express.
since i’m loso i’ll first look at orchard hotel availability and rates. sometimes sub 200. next is concorde. there’s an all you can eat peranakan restaurant at concorde for sub 30. hotel rates are loso type since many lesser mortal regional tourists stay there.Exacting demands, your YMCA already's spot on. Can try this Hangout (next to Istana) on Mt Emily, owned by Cathay Organisation. No frills though

Roberston Quay hotel, with nice riverside and Clarke Quay vicinity going for circa $153. Only as short hop to Wu Jie Lu
