..Jakarta (The Jakarta Post/ANN) - Two public order officers from Bungo regency in Jambi were arrested Monday after they were alleged to have raped a 15-year-old girl who had just been raped by another man.
Bungo Police chief detective Adj. Comr. Herman confirmed the arrest.
The victim was still traumatized from the incidents, Herman said.
Police became aware of the second assault after detectives apprehended the first alleged rapist.
The two officers reportedly found the girl on a roadside, sexually assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to authorities. The officers then took the girl to Bungo Police to report the original incident, believing the victim would not disclose the second rape incident.
The officers were identified as WD, 33, a resident of Batang Bungo, and AF, 24, a resident of Tanjung Gedang.
Bungo Public Order Agency chief Djusri Ramli said his agency would not offer legal protection to any officers found guilty of offenses.
"Let the legal proceedings take their course. We will dismiss any officers from the corps if they are found guilty," he said.
