The PAP will tax the common citizens more, detain your CPF,increase prices of water and electricity, increase transport fares, increase COE prices, increase ERP fees, push up property prices, increase maintenance fees, increase school fees, increase tertiary education fees,...etc.....etc
The PAP has abolished estate duty .Why ? Do u all know how many properties (bungalows and condos local and overseas ) each PAP minister own ?
Estate duty was abolished because they are aware that they have already squandered enough to their name or their family's name, so whatever existing that are subjected to this tax is negligible & they have found another way to take it back multiple times!

A progressive tax makes no sense at all because it is wrong and immoral to use other people's money to do charity.
A flat tax would be best as it taxes only expenditure and will boost income levels for all in the long run.
A progressive tax tends to stiffle the economy and we will end up like western countries who are now stuck in a quagmire with no way out

It is immoral for me being so charitable, to see to my hard earned money in CPF locked up, & forever raising the bar without any restrain or consultation. Never mind about the taxes, in which we have an obligation to pay anyway. Taxes & death are two things we have to face...as long as men have to rely on money..

If raise the tax like US. No one want to set up company in SG and rich people will not migrate to SG.

A capital gains tax only makes sense if there is tax relief on capital losses.
In other countries there is tax relief (or tax deduction) on capital loss on property transactions and realised stock market losses.

In other words the two tend to cancel each other out.

Capital losses can be used to offset capital gains to produce a net capital gain,
besides allowing capital losses to be carried forward to future years.

Please lah!!! It's immoral for all these MIWs to create all these little monopolies where they pay themselves x no of times more than their western counterparts....and for managing a cuntry the size of the smallest state in the US.

Rich people can fark off from this island IF they don't want to follow the laws of singapore. Why rich people like to come to Singapore ??? Singapore already a laundering hub for rich corrupt businessmen and generals and PAP welcome them with open hands.

The US has done it. Nows our turn. It's time the rich bear a bigger burden and contribute more to the nation's coffers so that it can then spend more on social welfare. How about it? Those households with $400k annual income and above.

The rich have always carried the burden of looking after those damned useless, lazy, lousy good for nothing members of society. The top 10% contribute more than 70% of the tax take. Why should they have to do anything more.

How about getting the parasites to look after themselves for a change.

The rich ought and should be made to do more simply because they can. The rules r made for them and they bent them with impunity. Also they r rich because they exploited the poor working class. Having u seen the Gini co-efficient lately?? It's getting worse. Time for some more wealth re-distribution......especially those so-called gahment leaders and civil serpents who r getting big pay not because of their abilities or achievements but simply because of whose asses they lick!!

On the contrary the ones who should be made to contribute more are those useless peasants who seem to harbor the notion that somebody else owes them a living.

And those foreigners working and living in sinkapore extra - like a 20 percent surcharge of gross income with no deductions - to pay for the infrastructure that foreigners have overly taxed.

You think that people choose to be poor, to be unemployed? That's pure right-wing hogwash.
