Raffles Institution in the 60s and 70s ..... where are the guys now?

Richard Ee is 3 to 4 years older than CCP
Based on what the regulars told me, one hang himself in his room but told the mess boy earlier, to go to his room at a certain time. The other happened in the toilet and was very messy. Very sad cases. They said due to failed investment

I heard that CCP was probably due to losses on the stock market, but did not hear the details about Richard Ee.

The school field. May I now pay credit to some of the Rugby players who brought glory to the school in 1969/1972 : Ho Lin Meng, Wong Chai Kee, Tan Geok Ser, Tay Eng Kiat, Lim Kim Nguan, Cheong Wai Hin, and Peter Chan. I sort of remember one giant named Derek (?) and someone called Charlie.....

Derek Cheong. Peter Chan underwent a triple bypass I heard and has retired .

The same. But most have good words for CCP saying he was from humble beginning and a nice guy.

The batch of the 60s and 70s also produced interesting characters like the Judoka - Fatty Loo Choon Beng. Up to this day, no one knows if his death is real or a staged event so as to escape the radar of those seeking his arsehole.....

=========================
He was reportedly behind the first high-tech baccarat casino scam in the Philippines.

Asian media reported that he and three others had allegedly used hidden cameras to cheat at baccarat games in three casinos run by state-gaming firm - Philippine Amusement and gaming Corp (Pagcor).

They cheated the firm of about 160 million pesos (S$4.5 million)...................

In the 1980s he owned more than 50 horses and was a familiar figure at race meetings in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Penang.

In 2000, the divorcee and father of two daughters was held under Malaysia's preventive detention laws for his alleged involvement in fixing the outcome of horse races at Malaysian turf clubs.

1988
Allegedly spat in a Singapore Airlines stewardess' face, after she accidentally spilt a soft drink on him during a flight from Hong Kong to Singapore
Accused of grabbing her arm, turning her around violently and raising his arm and threatening to slap her
The case was settled out of court
1995
Suspended from legal practice for three years for misconduct
1996

OCBC Bank filed a suit against him and a fellow lawyer for an $80.6 million loan which they failed to repay
Sued by OCBC for not paying back a $4.5 million personal loan

Then there were the ladies of the 60s and 70s....

RI re=admitted girls to its Pre-U classes in 1970, having banished them for a long long time previously......

I remember not being able to take my eyes away from Phobe Neo, a real teenage beauty of a Prefect.

Then there was the brainy Pamela Loke, surrounded by her gang comprising Yeoh Lay and the very cute Low Poh Heng

Then there was the attractive Susan Lim from the medical class, always with a handsome guy with the skin problem....

Lee Wei Ling was there too, with her tom boy hairdo and lady bodyguard in the background.........

I also remember a guy who died while serving NS

Ashok Kumar died after the explosives he was handling exploded in his hands. Someone said some radio waves from some transmission interfered with the triggering mechanism..... poor guy
RIP

There was another Indian Rafflesian SAF NSF officer, who survived the arty accident in NZ.
One or two of his men died.

Yup, Tua Pui Loo is a real talent. Same father and mother, but his bro is so different.

Loo Choon Beng, judoka brown belt at RI
his brother Loo Choon Hiaw, was also at RI, but went to NJC after Sec 4

Older brother Dr Loo Choon Yong founded the Raffles Medical Group.... also active with govt projects.....

Fatty Loo was a Judoka black belter back in the 70s. I lost to him in the national school championship then.

He must be at least 5 or 6 years my senior because I do no know of him at RI, notwithstanding that he is financially wealthy and successful.
