LHL speaks in Malay at 28 seconds, after drinking from his language-switching cup.

It is a good move to give them the right to wear their tudongs. Hopefully sinkies will also be given the right to request a non tudong nurse.

It works both ways.
I think in nursing, you need to cover the hair, like in cooking.

All thanks to Faisal Manap who, since 2017 has been battling for it.

However it will not stop here, until all provisions is allowed in the Constitution. Kids to school can wear, policeman, any uniformed workers. That will be the next step.

It's additional hassle for the minah nurses to wear the tudung. I'm sure they're swearing n cursing now. Imagine nurses working in high risk wards, gotta wear the full PPE, N95 mask, face shield or goggles n now with additional tudung... LOL

Those minah in the SAF how? Wear tudung n than put on helmet?

It's also a good visual marker of who are the more moderate Muslims and who are the not-so-moderate ones.

Akan datang: Red Cross Singapore rename to Red Crescent Singapore?

Why only malay nurses have this privilege ... how about police woman ?
Really dont understand why need such long debate on tudong ?
When Sikhs can wear their turban all these while

What about non muslims.

Do Muslims eventually see that the non muslims should also wear tudung to respect the Muslims?

If that's the case than Islam should also be embracing other cultures by carrying joss sticks offering prayers to their god..

this is all political rubbish

with the heat and humidity of C and B2 wards I don't see how it can be comfortable

and since when does wearing a towel over your head automatically signify piety, chastity and purity ?

It's called persecution and subjugation. Long list of unjust deeds PAP did to Malays.

So what’s the real reason behind this move? Sounds a lot like when they insisted on setting a slot for a Malay president.

But show buttocks and panties in public is ok

Singapore is indeed a Muslim state....with the crescented flag.

Your response indicates sarcasm with an eye to insult. Shall I respond? I must because my religion demands that erroneous perceptions are corrected.

The whole exercise is to 'allow'. Not to force or compel. If a muslim woman wants to wear it, she can, now. If she refuses, then its ok. Its all about giving them their choices.

Now to the non muslim, its also the same. If they want to, they can put on the hijab. If not, then its ok too. But I suggest as nurses they do, for better hygiene.

The current law forbids the choice. That was what we muslims fought against.
