Puteri Harbour Community

Good and bad news....
Ferry services will start to operate next week!
But............ The journey to Singapore will take one and half hour :(

Are you talking about the Hello Kitty Ferry from this site http://www.playtime.com.my/transport-water it appears this is a private ferry sponsored by the Puteri Harbour Entertainment group and I do not believe this represents what the commuter ferry schedule would be. I think it is a slow fun time family ferry ride and in the future when someone actually lives in Puteri Harbour the faster ferry would have been approved and able to function at speeds making an acceptable commute. If the HF to Batam ferry is 45 minutes then I expect they can do the same from PH to Harbour Front and most likely 10 min to Raffles Marina and the green line. But today there is no commuters or need or funancial gains for a fast ferry. From projections in the past when it is financially viable with enough ridership the time would be 45 min from PH to HF which works to get to other locations in that hour, hour 15 acceptable commute time frame.

Was the seminar held in 2012 or recently? If the stop over is in Puteri Harbour(most likely at CIQ),.. the property prices at Encorp, Somerset, Teega, etc are going to explode there.. all walking distance from CIQ.

however, if I remember correctly, Najib said that the stopover is in Iskandar but stop short of saving exactly the location.

The full clip in better resolution k be found here. I feel sometimes from speeches of these people, we k gather some insight from the drawing board, whether they say it intentionally or u intentionally

Well.... That's what the Uem staff told me this morning.

To be more exact, according to latest news on 2 March, the stop on Iskandar is actually referring to Nusajaya.

Mohd Nur says SPAD is working closely with Pemandu to plan future stations for the journey down south. Plus, there will be two types of HSR service express and transit.

The express service plans to only have one stop in Nusajaya in between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore while the transit service is slated to have stations in Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and two or three stops in Johor.

“We have to make sure that there are no hindrances in these areas marked for development.

“SPAD has also made its rounds to the various stakeholders involved such as the state governments of Selangor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan and Johor.

“It has to be consistent with their plans and they basically welcome the project,” he says.

Ideally two stop should be sufficient. KL-SEREMBAN-MELACCA-PUTERI HABOUR
Doenst make sense too many stop muar
Also consider ridership

yup, makes sense to stop at Puteri Harbour as its the shortest distance from Singapore. Construction costs will be greatly reduced and we have the existing CIQ and state govt there as well.

My only concern would be, is the CIQ in Puteri Harbour large enough to handle potentially high volumes of train crossing? It seems to me that the CIQ is designed just to handle ferry traffic, correct me if I am wrong. Given the master plan of Puteri Harbour, I am not sure if they have allocated space for the CIQ expansion, train lines coming in and out, space for building the crossing, etc. If it really happens, somehow, I can see the whole place in a complete mess over the next 6-7 years.

Also, Puteri Harbour is planned to be a very 'high end' development. To be honest, I usually dont see anything 'public', particularly ones that will bring heavy traffic in and out, around exclusive, high end developments.

I saw the video as well a few days back. Somehow, I got the impression that he know KL very well, but not necessarily Iskandar. I would still tend to believe that the HSR station has to be in a greenfield zone, given the scale of infrastructure required. So, Gerbang Nusajaya would be my guess for the HSR station as they have already been talking about linking through Tuas.

I see the point of short distance across PH. I am not a structural engineer, but I am sure there are other factors to consider while building the link, such as as soil strenghth etc. I am sure there was a good reason to build the 2nd link where it is. Otherwise they could have easily got it across PH in the first place, which is not too far.

I agree with you that the station will likely be located at Gerbang Nusajaya. It is envisioned to be gateway city to economic opportunities and high quality of life. 3 major investments which include Ascenda-UEM Tech Park, Peter Lim Motorcity and China Mall. Its also closest to the CIQ as well as housing for immigration staff.

the videos/ conference was in Jul 2012.. and government just announced it recently regarding the High speed train.. both governement still need to go through some feasibility study on alot of things. Bidding process for the High speed train project will be most likely next year according to star newspaer.. Hence, i really doubt that guy already know it where is the station before even government announce it?

As an agent who travel there all the time, having seen so many properties, Medini and Puteri harbour is the place to be as Singapore govt is very involved and its very near tuas link.

I personally feel that putri harbour is a good location for HSR. It is near Medini developmemt business, high population and major hospital located, universities, international resort and theme park. Thats also link MRT to JB n Tuas.

I also sees Gerbang as likely location for HSR. Easiest to link to Tuas extension, the CIQ, near to Medini and the big development there.

Guys....

Good read on the analysis of waterfront prop in iskandar....PH seems leading in the opinion poll ;)

http://thedevelopmentadvisor.com/iskandar-malaysia-waterfront-residential-property-development/

Not surprised to see PH lead the pack in terms of UP Market category, although one can argue that the number of voters is a bit low for any conclusive results. However, given the current launch prices of 1000 psf+, I am surprised to see Danga Bay being voted as Mass Market.

I was at an event organised on Iskandar by Malaysia Investors on Singapore Soil (MISS). Not sure how true this is, but the speaker mentioned that Country and Garden are planning to launch at insane prices. RM 2000 psf!!! The developer is quite confident that this is achievable.

Btw, the event today, they had planned for 40 odd people to attend and around 250 showed up. The room was packed. The main entrance hall was partitioned off from the room by a 7 foot high wall. People were packed even in the entrance hall, just trying to listen, some had their iPads over the wall to get a glimpse of the presentation.
